A game of some significance for us. If Gateshead don’t lose it’ll mean that we definitely avoid the prospect of facing Tranmere before the play-off final.

You forgot Bromley who can also still catch Aldershot. The Shots will only drop out of the play offs if Bromley, Ebbsfleet, Fylde and BW win all of their remaining games and it would be interesting to see what odds the bookies give for all those wins to happen plus us winning too. Aldershots approach to our game will be the same regardless of other results because they will want to finish as high up as possible. Barrow beating Bromley tonight will all but send Woking down |

We know that a Sutton win or draw on Saturday would deliver third place. If it's a draw then fourth place would be betweeen Aldershot and Ebbsfleet, and whichever grabs that would become favourites to visit GGL on Sunday 6 May. So acquaintances would be renewed rather quickly! But a Sutton win on Saturday would weaken Aldershot's chances and could allow Boreham Wood or Fylde to snatch fourth, though only if Ebbsfleet fail to win at Torquay.
Should we lose on Saturday, and Ebbsfleet win, we'd finish fifth and would probably be looking at a home game against BW or Fylde on Wednesday 2 May, with the winners away to Tranmere on Saturday 5th.
The other possibility is that we lose on Saturday and Ebbsfleet fail to win. We'd then finish fourth and would be at home on Thursday 3rd to whoever finishes seventh, with the winners away to the Shots on the 6th.
All is clear?

With Ebbsfleet making the trip to Torquay you’d put them as firm favourites for 4th place. Torquay managed to lose at home to Guiseley tonight whilst playing against 10 men for 87 minutes. They seem to be going down with a whimper. We’re a clean sheet away from 3rd place and avoiding a trip to Prenton Park

I believe Tranmere rested pretty much their entire first team last nght. Just goes to show the difference in resources, and how fantastic our 'part timers' have done this season.

....there are so many permutations re matches on Saturday, with no doubt a surprise or two , will have to wait until 2.30pm. The main thing is that Sutton get the necessary point to finish third, so get behind the team and give them support that's the least we can do.
