What a diabolical liberty.Don't they realise they are visiting a bigtime club and the ground will probably be less than half full ? I’m sure they’re more aware than you are. No chance the ground will be half empty. If only Billy were running the club. We'd be in the Champions League by now.

Bearing in mind our capacity of 4,688, and that Aldershot have sold well over 1,000 tickets, I'm going to take a stab at 3,250. Which is around 2/3 full.

Like most of your views, that's several years out of date. What would happen if two eighty year olds who have been lifelong friends turn up together, one a Sutton fan the other Aldershot. Would one of them be kicked out or frogmarched to the "correct" area of the ground ? If they've been friends eighty-odd years I'm sure they can stand to be separated for a couple of hours. I used to have a boyfriend who supported another team in the same league as Sutton and we managed to watch from separate ends when we played each other. Oh and Billy, these ticketing arrangements were NOT THE CLUB'S DECISION. Health and safety directives, dear chap.

I thought the capacity was over 5 thousand. No that's changed due to Health and Safety, hence the new barriers that have been put in place on the terracing. It's had an effect in reducing capacity.

The official website still says 5,013, which I suspect has given rise to some confusion... www.suttonunited.net/stadium/

I should point out that as far as I'm aware the club has no say in the matter. The fact that we comfortably accommodated 5000+ against Wimbledon, Leeds and Arsenal doesn't matter. We've been inspected since then and had to reduce our capacity as a result

Oh Billy, perhaps check your facts before you post The club has to satisfy "external stakeholders" with regards to ground safety and as a result, I suspect some decisions are made under the "advice" of such stakeholders. Someone on the Shots forum suggest we give them more tickets but as the away end has a capacity (as all sections of the ground probably have) then that's all they will get.

Quite right Mark, sorry about that.Let me amend my post accordingly. It's called segregation as even a dinosaur like you would know.
This is either an attempted wind up or you just don't understand the NL very well. Either way, not for the first time, your comments are those of a someone ignorant of the facts.

I believe when we famously beat Aldershot in 87, there were 3,419 people at that game. That's when we had a capacity of 8,000. It certainly didn't feel "half full" that day, and I think it's the only time I can think of where there police horses in the ground and even with segregation (which I think we had) there was trouble.
The club has had a lot of pressure from Health and Safety in recent weeks it seems, and any sensible person involved in decision making will be doing whatever they can to make sure that they mitigate the risk of ANY problems. With the resources they have, it will be impossible to eliminate everything and even if something happens, you can be sure that someone behind the scenes has planned for almost every possibility.
Whether the ground looks half full or not I couldn't give a toss. I'm much more concerned that everyone can watch a good game of football without fear or worry. And that includes the board, management and player as well as us fans.

Is there really a need for segregation ? 3,000 odd people in a ground that could hold around twice that amount. Are the Sutton (or Aldershot) faithful liable to start trouble ?
