Well, this is interesting. Following the changes it will now take me either 1 hour and 49 minutes to get to Sutton via London Bridge with one change or 1 hour and 19 minutes with two changes via East Croydon. A lot easier to get to a game if all goes smoothly but does any of these changes affect anyone else in a negative way? Edit: It's not really interesting, it is dull as dishwater but I'm a tad bored

How long did it take you before?
My husband told me yesterday - the first full day of the new timetable - that every service was disrupted. I expect I'll shortly receive a text to let me know how his Sutton-Leatherhead commute is going. This is likely to contain swear words.
Update: He says it's exactly as bad as the old service but with fewer people because they no longer stop at the places where people get on...

It took just over two hours with two changes. Unless I went via Victoria then nearly two and a half with two changes.
All pure conjecture right now so let's hope the damn things actually run on time!

Thameslink seem to be determined to cut West Sutton off from any train connections!

Thameslink seem to be determined to cut West Sutton off from any train connections! Wouldn’t be surprised if they cut the whole section between Wimbledon Chase and West Sutton, it’s rarely used by passengers and buses and the tube are more convienant in that area of London.

Spoken like someone that clearly doesn’t use it himself. Those stops are absolutely packed in the mornings That is partly what I was trying to say but obviously came across differently, I meant this stations on the section of the line are generally only busy in mornings and some evenings. Hence why I said buses are more convienant as trains are generally every 20/30 mins in off peak times of the day. Wouldn’t be surprised if Thameslink put the service down to one train every 40/45 minutes in the near future in the off peak times.

What is more convenient depends entirely on where you are trying to get to. We can't speak for everyone but even if we could, wouldn't the packed trains speak for themselves? If the tube is more convenient then why are those people all squeezing onto a hot, packed train?

Buses are only more convenient as you're more likely to live near a bus stop than you are a train station.
There are enough traffic hotspots in the local area (Rosehill, Sutton station, bottom of Sutton, Sutton Common Road, Morden) to make travelling by bus a bit of a nightmare, and the journey from West Sutton to Wimbledon is about 14 minutes. You can only do that in a car late in the evening.
Thameslink have cut the morning peaks for 4 weeks so the first service northbound from West Sutton is now about 820 instead of 620. As a result the traffic and buses have been a nightmare this morning.

You clearly have no idea then Good for me... and for the record, I have used that section of track quite a bit over the past two years but obviously not enough by my total lack of knowledge!

You clearly know all there is to know about your own experience, but the issue is that you're not allowing for other people's experiences being different from your own.

Back when I had to start work at 9am the trains here were horrendous. I have to take Southeastern and packed in like a sardine is an understatement. Fortunately I only have a ten minute commute to Tonbridge Now I start at 11am so it's not that bad. Constantly delayed though and/or cancelled. Have to say that the Thameslink trains are a lot tidier and cleaner than the Southeastern ones. They are a total mess, don't even get me started on the toilets. Complete health hazard.
