The downside would be the travel costs for the club. It would be interesting to get more information on who we could play in the early rounds. I assume it would be regionalised?

Not going to get too excited by this until it's approved by the National League and the FA. If it follows previous years patterns, there could be a clash with midweek games.

This has the potential to be such a laugh IF it's Saturday fixtures. Last season, after the 1st Round it was all saturday/Sunday games. |

I for one would be very excited at the prospect of seeing the club included in this tournament. Taking on some the big names in the Scottish leagues would get the pulse quickening. However that said, we do have a part time squad, a long old 46 game season and are already committed to 3 other cup competitions. Is there any danger that the club will say that its too much of a stretch for our lads given these commitments and the likely tiring away trips to Scotland Wales Ulster and the ROI?

If we were to enter it would mean a maximum of 5 extra games (if it follows the same format as last season). The first being early September and the final being in late March.

Not for me, travelling to the other end of the country to play in a mickey mouse competition, doesn't make a lot of sense to me at all..
If it were the Anglo Italian Cup, then maybe..

I'm in the camp that we could do without this. 46 league games in a tough league plus the FA comps is more than enough. The only way I'd personally want us to get involved is if we use the Surrey Senior side - i.e. a mix of academy players and first teamers in need of games. And also that costs were covered either through appearance/prize money and/or a sponsor for it.
