Local paper suggests that Dan has either signed for/or is on trial with Woking.

Just saw that in the local Guardian. Not really surprised, with two new full backs I doubt poor Dan would have got a much of a look in. Good signing for Woking I’d say if the do take him on. Good luck to him.

He was always a good servant of the club, although very much a player on the fringes of the first team. Hopefully he'll get more regular opportunities to play now, and I wish him well.

Local paper suggests that Dan has either signed for/or is on trial with Woking. Mentioned this the other day in the ex-players thread - Dan played for Woking in their friendly versus AFC Wimbledon on Tuesday night. It’s a pity but he’s fallen down the pecking order here - a very good player who never let us down when called upon, Dan was brilliant during the heroic cup run.

Agreed on Dan's performance for us, but I'm not sure I'd characterise our wonderful cup run as "infamous". The only infamy came from those external to the club, in my view...

Don't know what went on there. I can't remember him ever having a bad game for us, and certainly in our amazing night at Kingsmeadow last year he was in my opinion one of the best players on the pitch. I think Dos hinted when he went on loan that his personal circumstances suited him better part time, but when he was available and Dos would rather play JC or Nicky B out of their first choice positions rather than him, his number was pretty much up.
I remember him playing at Chester early on in our first season (where we got thrashed) and from the sidelines it looked as if the rest of the team didn't even realise he was there - he was in so much space so many times and hardly got the ball - it almost looked like the typical playground match of "yeah he's the last one to be picked so we don't pass to him". I don't think there's much doubt on his ability, but maybe his character (not a negative, just being as Dos called him "a f**king mute" probably didn't do him any favours. Shame as he's a nice lad, and if Woking have signed him, I wouldn't be surprised if he ends up with his 2nd National League South winners medal.

I see on the Woking PSF preview on their website he is already being referred to as "ex-Sutton". Shame if it's true but the reality is, based on last season's selections and the recruitment made already, I can't see him getting anything more than a handful of outings if he stays in our squad.
I always liked him as a player and don't think he ever let us down. In fact if it wasn't for a fantastic tackle in the penalty box, in the FA cup replay against Wimbledon when we were already a goal down, I doubt we would have progressed further. I think it's fair to say we gained a lot financially and in terms of media profile from that extended FA cup run, and the credit due to Dan for that alone was never really made in my opinion.
Best wishes for the future, wherever that might be.

And don't forget his goal line clearance against Cheltenham as well.

Sorry to see Dan go he was a very reliable player, who never let us down. I wish him all the very best at Woking.
