Desperate for a loan signing now, down to two strikers, hope there’s some more news to come

Ross has got to take the money so I understand why he would move.
Having said that I wish RL all the best, probably be used between the trapeze act and clowns....

He’s a top fella RL - so best of fortune to him. However, if you look at Paul’s lineup’s for the last few games - Orient, Barrow & Bohemian - RL made the line up once.
Orient front 3 - JA, TW, AD Barrow front 3 - JA, RL (replaced 57’ by TB), AD Bohemian front 3 - JA, AD, TB
It was starting to take shape that RL was the odd man out. KC is playing well when he comes on and maybe we are moving towards playing 4-3-3 so we have plenty of options in that system. Once JC is back in defence AT pushes back into his left back role which leaves DW doing what he wants to do which is attack the opposition right back and not defend against him. Also JT can play in a midfield 4-3-3 or attacking 4-3-3

I really don't understand some of the decisions. We're now even shorter up front.

I think Sol is spot on, I was saying to him earlier that I think it spells the end of the target man system, that wasn't really working for us. RL is a great player but in order to accommodate him we needed to change our style of play with someone playing of his shoulder, and its not really Dos's game.

If Ebbsfleet are struggling as much as their local journalist suggests they are then perhaps we may see one of their front men come over here, we've been linked with Cheek before.
Dos knows what he is doing either way. Receiving a transfer is can never be a bad thing for our club

I really don't understand some of the decisions. We're now even shorter up front. I suppose that's because the club isn't obliged to tell us the exact reasoning behind every decision so we won't always know all of the details. But if Ross wanted to go, this club is never one to stand in a player's way.

All the best to Ross. As Sol says he is a top guy.
He took some right batterings from defenders particularly in the first few months of last season and rarely got any protection from referees.
Of course, we won't forget that strike at Wrexham which grabbed a point and helped maintain the early momentum.
Interesting to note that he will now tie up with Moses Emmanuel at a club for the third consecutive time.

With Tommy out & Ross gone i think we will need another striker with experience.

Dos will have a plan. When has he ever not in 10+ years.
From what I can see Ross hasn't played a full 90 for us since mid-August, so it would be a little generous to call him a key player, especially so if he was one of the higher earners.
But saying that he was a decent player and guy and I hope the Billericay move comes with the promise of gametime too. He's had it rough for sure and he's got some crackers, although you always know he'd miss a sitter most games! Good luck Ross, and now it's time for others to step up to the plate.

Best wishes to Ross and thanks for the successful spell you had at GGL.
Here's hoping the rest of his body enjoys some respite from match-day collisions, as his ears will take the punishment from now on if the Billericay dressing room video is still typical.
Readers who did not get the club's last accounts will nevertheless have picked up several hints in Dos's recent interviews and reports about money being tight. The importance of beating Wealdstone to progress in the FA Cup. The Irn-Bru Cup being an expense not an earner. No more loanees coming in. The Barnet game going to midweek and now letting Ross go. My view of the 2017-18 accounts is that they were grim. In contrast to the miracle year before that Sutton had no cup bonanza - but we are spending more on players and travel. Ross's departure will be a plus in that department if nowhere else.

Wish him all the best, we don't stand in the way of players being offered good deals for their futures.
Time for the young lads up front to start bagging some goals now. Limited return on that score so far given the number of games they have played, despite their potential. Let's start tomorrow boys!
Maybe the system will change a little too with more emphasis on width and passing rather than the ball to the target man. Whatever happens "In Dos We Trust".

As said, time for some of the youngsters to start banging in some goals now. That said, as soon as they do the scouts will be sniffing round in profusion. Class top strikers are very rare and valuable commodity nowadays. Good luck in the future Ross and thanks for taking some hard knocks in the course of your duty for the Club.
