The weather in Hartlepool may not have been quite as severe as forecast. But there's a reminder that the month of October can bring shocks and surprises. Ten years ago today (a Tuesday) we travelled to Boreham Wood for an evening Ryman League match, only for it to be called off because rain turned to heavy snow just before kick-off. The snowfall was localised, and there was no sign of any when we got back into London. A weird evening!

Boreham Wood always has appeared to have its own weather system! Do you remember that time heavy fog was rolling across half of their pitch but didn't seem to be anywhere else?

Might have been a game I missed. But, one way or another, a lot of our trips to BW seem to be cursed (obviously not last season 😁).

Also we never play there on a Saturday. I don't know what will happen to our game there this season but surely something will...

I don't mind going there midweek. Not too bad a drive from Oxford and it seems such a waste of a Saturday spending it in such miserable surroundings

Remember that game. The rain at the station turned into snow by the time we got to the game. Utter nuts. Borehamwood and it's very own microclimate
