So those of you who know my dad Clive may have noticed he’s not been around GGL for quite a while - he’s in hospital had an op on his back and is battling to get well again to return to GGL. I will forever be thankful to him for taking me to Sutton when I was a kid I have so many memories from football and I always think it helped build a special bond between me and my dad. Can’t wait to see u back in the stand dad 💛 Yesterday I took my nephew Jensen to GGL for the 1st time (probably not most entertaining game I could have picked 🙈) so we are now on the 3rd generation of supporters. He’s obviously a big fan of Jamie Butler already 😁 so my question to u is what generation are you on?

I hope your dad gets well soon.

Technically I'm first but often, like yesterday, I was accompanied by my Dad, who it seems is gradually being turned from being a "Robin".
I think the most family we have ever got to a single game is 3 generations comprising 9 people.

As far as I know I’m third generation as my Mum went all the time and my grandmother also went to the Leeds 1970 game. I don’t know if her father ever watched Sutton.
One of my nephews has been to a game too

At least third; Grandparents, parents, me (sister and brother too at one time). And of course, Uncle Wally!

I am without doubt the first in my family (my old pops he’s 88 - still does not get my obsession with football, wanted me to be a lawyer like him)!
My son has come along a few times - he was mascot v AFC Wimbledon in the cup & Maidstone away.
And I will be in the near future getting all 13 nephews and nieces down to GGL to enjoy the beauty of the SU family.

I'm second generation as my Dad used to watch them from the 30s to the 50s. He returned with me in 1966. I've got lots of programmes from those days.

Would be interesting in copying them if anyone has any from those decades. I do have a lot from the 40's and 50's mind.

Third generation as my uncle first brought me along and his uncle used to watch before him.

Great thread!
I'm third generation, I think. My maternal grandfather was an Arsenal supporter who moved from north London to Sutton. My mum has never much liked football, but her brother has been coming to Gander Green Lane since the 1940s, and my other uncle has resumed regular attendance. My late father was a Blackpool supporter (from Dorking!) but he did come to some Sutton games and was there when we beat Coventry.
Oh, and at least one of my cousins' children has been to GGL, so that's an extra generation.

Speedy recovery to your dad Ossie - always a familiar and friendly face I've seen at GGL since I first started coming. My dad was one of the 14000 against Leeds and 8000 against Coventry. But then I'd class him as a gloryhunter - So I'm 1st gen, although I've brought both my nieces (and various cousins, which are plentiful) through the years.

I am really the first generation, although I did drag my father to the Lane a few times. Both my sons were ball boys in their time, and my eldest has now become a season ticket holder in the last couple of years. My daughter has been to a couple of games, but generally works in the bar at matches. All three of them have been mascots. My two local nephews (then) were also ball boys and mascots as well. One has moved to Australia the other to Plymouth, so no longer attend, but their father is a season ticket holder. My granddaughter is a season ticket holder and comes occasionally. My grandson is a little young at the moment, but I’m sure will be coming with his dad soon.
