Tough game in prospect but we have the management team & players to see us through. Dos has asked for a good away following !

Bought my tickets over the weekend so well up for this one. Thankfully, Slough have a 3G pitch, although the weather forecast is showing rain all day and a considerably less than balmy 3°C, and with wind chill that will feel more like zero, so hats, scarves and waterproofs are must!

I’ll be listening in from Bradford v Aldershot (bbc radio). I believe their sending someone from the beeb to the game (not bbc London or bbc Berkshire - a national chap or lass).
My prediction and line up: 4-3-3
RW DB CC JC AT KD NB CE TB JA KC or JT
(Sorry to the forum member who complained about the initials last week)!
Slough 0 SU 2
(RW - does not let in goals). Enjoy.

Have we had a shot since the substitutions? Listening to commentary and cannot remember one.

Hard listening. Sounded very much 2nd best for some time. Fingers crossed we can scrape through.

The worst shoot out to listen to ever. Can’t argue with the result, think Slough deserved it over the tie.

The need for another striker now looks acute. Cloughie played up front again, and although he won plenty of balls, he rarely had a clear sight of goal and there was nobody playing off him to any great effect. Jonah had a disappointing game, and when Aaron came on it was another case of plenty of effort without an end product.
We just about had the better of the first half, Clough putting Josh Taylor through on the left and his penetrating run and cross set up Harry for our goal. But we didn't build on that, and Slough wasted two or three good opportunitiess before equalising direct from a free kick, which gave Ross no chance. They could have won it in extra time, although we finished the stronger. Then it was penalties and, as in Dublin, we went out when those went to sudden death.
The players must be exhausted after that, and now have to pick themselves up for the Maidenhead game on Saturday. One consolation is that our trip to Fylde will now go ahead on Saturday week rather than being rearranged for a Tuesday night.

If so, Dos was being a tad disingenuous with his Saturday post-match comments when he claimed he wouldn't. But the kernel of your point couldn't be more accurate. A striker from somewhere has to be procured. I can't see Jonah and Aaron producing 20 goals between them; actually I can't see them scoring six apiece until the end of the season!

Yep I think the word 'Striker' may come up a few more times in this thread.
Can't fault the effort of either set of players over 120mins they all gave everything, penalties are a lottery and in truth Slough gave as good if not better at timers than they got.
As for us, just 3 goals in 8hrs speaks volumes, that is 1 every 160mins. Just to put our fantastic defence into context, they have conceded just 2 in that 8hrs.
