Interesting that the management team are looking at themselves as in my opinion teams know exactly how we will play and nullify our threat from the midfield winning second ball. They also know to shut down JB so we make hurried clearances from the back.

They also know to shut down JB so we make hurried clearances from the back. Yes, especially at home. We do our homework on other teams so naturally they do the same to us. Perhaps a simple change we could make is play towards GGL in the first half. The current team has a great reluctance, when playing the ball forward from the centre of the field, to look left in the first half. Most passes go to the right, grandstand side, and opponents now load the defence that side. Playing towards GGL this bias is less marked, though we favour the grandstand side again, now our left. Away from home this one-sidedness is absent and our attack is better balanced. |
