Dan has left the club today to sign for Maidstone United. Never really recaptured the form he had before moving to Forest Green but could be superb at times.
I wish him well in his future career.

Aswad’s excellent form has made him a bit surplus to requirements at left back and we have better wide options. Wish him huge success, all the best

Think it’s hard to find form when you don’t play. But clearly a need to balance the books and he’s too good a player to not be playing.

One of our best left backs, shame it didn't work out for him on his return. He will be an asset to Maidstone I'm sure

We won't forget the terrific early goal that Dan scored for us at Maidstone in April 2016 as we closed in on the NL South title. And there was an even better one from him late on at Margate a few days later. Then there was that exquisite free kick to give us the lead at Lincoln the following August. It was no surprise that he moved on to the Football League soon afterwards.

I always thought he wasn't best used as a left back. I remember a game at Whitehawk where he was at fault for both goals, and following that game Dos rang in the changes that brought us the title, one of which was playing him further forward. Not an out and out winger but a useful and creative left midfielder.
To be fair I suppose one of the reasons we let him go is an indication of how well Aswad has done this season and made that position his own. For me, he's already in with a shout for Player of the Season so far.

Best of luck to Dan; just didn't work out this time but will be remembered for his brilliant form during 15/16 season - his goal at Margate was outstanding - and that fantastic free-kick at Lincoln that probably sealed the move to FGR.
