On Doswell's note about people getting at the players I would just like to put it in writing how excellent Pearce was today. He looked confident on the ball, kept his position well, scored a vital goal and you'd have never have guessed he was making his full debut if you didn't know. Also to score a vital goal, he should be well pleased with himself.
Also Aswad Thomas, as stated in the match thread, was outstanding again today. He took a lot of stick last season but as Andy K has said a few times on here, he is certainly on course to challenge for Player of the Year IMO.
I am not on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram for a lot of reasons so I don't see what is posted on them but let's build our players up not knock them down.
The way some of our fans go on you'd think we are battling relegation rather than threatening the play off spots.

I've watched the interview and I feel totally vindicated. Congratulations to all of those on here or other social media platforms who have hidden behind their keyboards to undermine the confidence of players such as Drinan or Ayunga. Hope you feel nice and proud and enjoyed exercising your free speech regardless of consequences.

I don't post on this forum much these days but I was sad to hear the gaffer's comments and hope that Jonah comes back refreshed and in a good mindset - I think that he has a lot of talent/promise.
What I will say is that after about 2.5 years of following this wonderful football club home and away to virtually every match I continue to have complete and unbending faith in Paul Doswell and all of his decisions (the longest serving manager in the top five leagues I believe - for good reason) and his players and staff. We are very lucky to have him.
I think some people should remember more often that whatever happens Sutton are a team of plucky part-timers on a tight budget up against mostly full-time sides, some with colossal budgets for this level of football, who have done incredibly well to get in and stay in this league (not to mention the Cup run!) and deserve our full support. Unlike Premier League footballers I don't think that they get paid enough to accept regular public criticism from their own supporters as part of their job description, especially those who are relatively young or new to the team.
I am immensely proud and inspired every day by the way that all of the people involved with this club have and continue to put my hometown on the map.
PS IN DOS WE TRUST

Don't forget it is the manager that picks the team and the formation not the players had if selected they give their best but you also have to get the right balance. That is what management in any profession is about. Change is often good for the team.
As Dos obviously reads this forum could I suggest Sean Okuji at Leatherhead as a potential target man? Will need some development but at 23 looks a strong player. Was at Aldershot briefly.

I have to say I think the decision to move Clough up top is a correct one and, given our excellent defence with or without him in there, I haven't really understood the negativity around it.
Some of our struggles this season have been getting the ball to stick up top, too often we would clear it and it would come straight back again and that was leading to a bit of frustration being vented at Aaron IMO. You don't need a marauding Didier Drogba up there but someone big who can win the first ball and cause defences problems, making space for our other attackers and generally being a constant nuisance for 90 minutes. Big and strong, an excellent header of the ball and a good footballer, CC does a better job in this position than others who should make this their bread and butter (Tom Denton springs to mind). An excellent decision by Dos and one that shows, IMO, that some of our fans don't truly understand the game of football.
It is a shame that Aaron went back before this change really got established. Hopefully when Jonah returns he can get a good relationship going with CC and start smashing in some goals off the flicks.

I'm hoping that our budget allows us to get a target man again as although Clough can play up front i don't see him there as a permanent solution. More of an emergency centre forward or someone who goes forward if we are searching for a late equaliser or winner. Apart from that ,as Dos said, this will be what he calls a reset season and are expectations should be lowered for the time being.

Another brilliant and candid i/v from Dos. The club has picked a lot of new fans in recent seasons which, of course, is a good thing. But they have to remember that this is nl football and some of our younger players are earning a pittance in comparison to the so-called stars of the NL.
Earlier this week, Brandon T-A tweeted how he was enjoying the learning experience of playing at this level and I have enjoyed his total 100% commitment on the pitch. That tweet says much for Dos and the club's ethos. We don't have the financial back up enjoyed by the vast majority of the clubs in the NL to afford the Bonne's, the Rowe's etc so giving the opportunity to younger players has to be applauded.
Elsewhere, some one suggested that it was a risk to play Bradley P yesterday but what is the point of having an academy if we're not going to use the better players that come from it? Bradley P turned out to be anything but a risk yesterday and by giving him the opportunity to play in such a fixture (and how he grasped that opportunity) should stand him in good stead for the future.
Jonah is a raw talent and has already benefited from his loan at H&W by scoring three goals - who knows how his second the other week could be given to their other fella?
As Dos said, he has being doing this for a long time. Some people need to give him and the management team a bit of slack and in by doing so the targeted players a bit of respect too.
We all have our opinions about players (probably all have our likes and dislikes) but that doesn't mean they have to be aired over the www to the detriment of others.

As I said on another post, people are responsible for what they say and the impact it does or does not have, Dos is also entitled to respond to those comments as he sees fit. Bradley had a superb debut, and scores too, so anyone thinking his inclusion was wrong may have a little egg to clean up today. However I don't think Cloughie is the answer up front, although he can be used for that role, I would much rather see him as a CB. Having said that you can only use the resources available if you don't have money to spend, and that means trusting your acadamy players. Its interesting that we have now scored 4 and conceded 4 in the last 2 matches, I wonder if that is the result of being slightly more risky at the back? I will of course concede the point that Dos maybe slight better at this than me

From watching Dos manage I get the feeling he'd rather a 2-2 draw trying to win and be entertaining than a dour 0-0 draw. Something about him which I love, not sure you can say the same about all managers who visit us
We'd slipped into the latter in recent weeks but we seem to have posed more threat over the last 2 games. We'll be back to winning ways very soon
