A match between two evenly match sides. I guess there will be one or two changes from the Halifax game, Who would you like to see start the game?

Paul McKinnon and Micky Joyce People need to stop accusing you of living in the past Billy - you're clearly not.

Given our increased attacking options now with Toure and Williams joining the squad I wonder who Dos will go with this afternoon..

The special prize for getting it right before 3.00pm is a seat in the Dugout. Only caveat is you have to mind your Ps & Qs: since the unexpected vacancies were caused by Dos and Bairdy giving a verbal assessment of the officials during the game.

Given our increased attacking options now with Toure and Williams joining the squad I wonder who Dos will go with this afternoon.. I hope one of those two to start, the other to replace him, and TB and KC as wingers. Perhaps the critical position will be LB where Aswad's height and heading ability may be key to U's defending better against Bromley's aerial threat at set pieces. If he is still out then we have a problem.

Our second 1-0 win on the spin. That's six points and two clean sheets. Things are looking up. This was a more open game than Saturday's. We started with new boys Williams amd Toure up front and Jonah and Harry out wide, and came close to scoring a few times in the goalless first half, although Bromley tested our defence on the break. The decisive goal came early in the second half, Bradley Pearce playing his part by heading a cleared corner back into the area, JC's header off the bar seemingly helped over the line by visiting keeper David Gregory. Bromley had opportunities to equalise late on, not least when sub Joe Quigely got clean through, but Jamie B did superbly well to force him wide, the shot then coming back off the upright. So that's a measure of revenge for the Trophy defeat (if that result stands). We stay 8th, but are now only three points behind fifth-placed AFC Fylde. Today's attendance of 2086 was our biggest at home this season.

Thought Dale was outstanding and rightly won MOTM, the front boys Gime, Brett and Jonah all worked tirelessly. 3 good points, well done all.

My MOTM was JC, I thought he was a man possessed he was everywhere and got the vital goal too, and nearly added to it.
In fact it was a day of Jamie's, JB used every ounce of his experience to stop their guy from scoring after JC's slip.
We still got to get our strikers to score, then we will be on our way. In truth apart from that mentioned one on one with JB, Bromley actually huffed and puffed a lot but didn't ever look like finding a way through.

In truth i found the first half a little boring with Bromley coming to the Lane for a draw and us not being able to score. The game improved when we did find the net and Bromley came at us in search of an equaliser. We nearly gifted them an equaliser when we decided to play back from a good attacking position and only JB's intervention saved us. So at home to Aldershot on Saturday & given the number of games in such a short period I would imagine we shall have to change the team around a little.

Another predictably tight match with Bromley settled by skip's header early in the second half. That U's won two headers from the same corner is a surprise considering the size of the Bromley back four but Harry B's delivery was met at the back stick by Brad P and skip attacked the ball and got enough on it to beat 'keeper and defender. It was no more than U's deserved at that stage with the visitor's happy to rely on long clearances to their quick forwards as their most potent form of attack.
The U's had to soak up a fair bit of pressure after the goal but the best chance came because of a rare error as skip got his feet wrong and Quigley pulled away and looked to have rounded Jamie B but the U's keeper's dogged persistence was enough to create a difficult angle and Quigley's effort thumped into a hoarding. Not long after Jamie B got down well to a fine low strike but that was it and a second consecutive clean sheet meant six points from two.
Thought Brett W and Gime T did well up front as did Jonah A in what was a decent team performance. Dale Bennet rightly took the MotM award though as he was outstanding.
Thought ref had a pretty good match with both cards shown warranted - Craig's 8th in the league - and he probably did U's a favour by only adding three minutes on at the end - I thought there was a case for more.
43 points from 25 matches is a fine return and with just four defeats so far suggests as I have observed before, this Sutton team is difficult to overcome. Long may that continue.
Aldershot next and no doubt a decent turnout from their fans for a difficult match against a side in need of a confidence boost.
