Really impressive work rate by the team again especially when you consider how many games we’ve played over the last few days. Brett Williams gets the winner and he works really hard, been a great little addition to the side. Beauts motm, he’s been back to his best in recent weeks. Well done lads

Thought we were pretty ordinary but good enough on the day. Aldershot looked so poor defensively but we didn’t really get at them after the start. Good sign to be winning when not at your best. Still not really clicked going forward. If we do we’d be a big threat at the top as clearly very tough to beat. Butler made some new friends today. Poor game really for the fans, very little keeper action. Agreed Beautyman our brightest spark, particularly 1st half, a bit wasteful at times with delivery from dangerous spots but nice to see him playing well.

Hanging on and time wasting for the last 30 minutes against a team struggling for form. Not good to watch.

We have a 'like' button but any chance of a dislike one too?

I think we looked tired especially when Aldershot made a game of it. 2-0 up and we lumped the ball forward aimlessly expecting an easy ride but as it turned out it wasn't to be. Toure had a dreadful miss in front of an open goal second half which would have made the win comfortable. Butler's time wasting not only infuriated Aldershot's fans but quite a few Sutton ones as well and all the ref did was add the time on at the end. Still 9 points from the last 3 games is an excellent return but we need to improve for Bromley away.

Credit to Aldershot for not folding after going 2 down early. Their patched up team got a boost from their fluke of a goal. Then they put in the effort and did look the more likely team to score in the second half.
U's reached a level of football for the opening 10 minutes as good as anything they have done at home recently. A poacher's goal from Harry and a good snap-shot from Williams. Then they faded. Jimmy looked the most dangerous attacker we had - and his reward was the early bath.
Butler's handling of aerial balls into his box was excellent today, an improvement seemingly at the expense of his kicking accuracy, which was off course despite their being no wind or rain. He was not alone in the poor passing skill, our midfield were spotting our forwards' runs but then passing woefully far from the target.
Still maximum points from 3 games, without playing well. It is a good way to finish the year.

2-0 up in six minutes, and many of us might have expected a a massive boost to our goal difference come the final whistle. Alas it wasn't quite to be, as a patched-up Aldershot side gave as good as they got for the remainder of the match, and might feel that their efforts deserved more than the one freakish goal they pulled back. While spurning late chances for a third goal, we hung on for the three points. Although still 8th, we're the lowest of six clubs now blocked on 46-49 points.

Firstly 9pts in 7 days is a awesome return, so no complaints there at all. Today maybe down to the busy schedule, but quite simply Aldershot were one of the poorest sides we have faced this season. I don't think they actually mustered another attempt on goal apart from the deflected goal, and quite frankly a fully firing U's side would have filled their boots today. We won that in 3rd gear, but Dos is looking constantly for 4th, and as yet we are not getting into top gear. Don't get me wrong we are still a decent side in 3rd, but there is more there to be had from this squad. Got to love JB, he just doesn't care about them baying for his blood behind him - Unique character mad as a hatter but a real gem

The Aldershot forum is good for a laugh, the typical blaming the pitch nonsense. The lad who messed up the long ball which allowed Harry to score they signed this month from Maidstone of all places.

I'd agree we looked a little tired at times, that not being a big shock considering the tight match schedule at this time of year. But we battled, kept our spirits up and deservedly got the 3 points. I'm slightly suprised that others think that the Shots were the more likely to score in the second half. I'd call that the other way, on balance.
I did stand next to an elderly gentleman, in the second half, for whom we could do no right at all. Not a damn thing. He seemed oblivious to the fact that we actually won.
Takes all sorts.

And, yes, the Shots fans' forum is ridiculous. They spend most of the time lambasting their own players and manager while occasionally bemoaning how insulting it is for them to have to keep playing (let alone get beaten by) 'tinpot' clubs like us.
I get the feeling that the likes of Orient and Wrexham (for example) have a more realistic (and polite) grip on the importance of the now as opposed to yesterday and are, consequently, making a far better stab at getting back to their former level.

My take on yesterday was that it wasn't a bad match. I agree with Dos that the Shots didn't look like scoring. Butler didn't have a shot to save. The Shots fans seem to think that Cole was at fault for the first goal but Finney didn't get enough on his header which was brilliantly anticipated by Harry. Brett took his goal well and work tirelessly throughout as did Jonah (one example was when he played a poor pass straight to their player but sprinted all the way back to our goal line to see the ball out for a goal kick)and Gime.
Thought we thoroughly deserved our victory and should have had more goals.
The ref did ok but the linesmen were appalling. Their 19 foul throwed virtually every time by lifting his foot up. What's the point of having this law if it's not applied?
A win at Bromley and we'll be back in the top 7.

Far less nose-in-the-air stuff. As to some of their fans being a disgrace, a few of our aren't too clever, on occasion.
