Luke Armstrong Gateshead top scorer recalled by Middlesbrough, is that an omen for us. What a New Years present👍🤔

I wasn't really considering Gateshead as a play off team ( Although they occupy one of the places ). I very much doubt they will be there come the end of the season. Ebbsfleet & Eastleigh do seem to be on a bit of a roll though at present.

Like us, Gateshead are over-achieving this season. They had to slash their playing budget following a change of ownership earlier this year.
Ideally we want to overhaul Gateshead and at least one other (whilst not being overtaken ourselves). The dubious reward for finishing 6th or 7th looks like being a long trip north, at short notice, for a midweek play-off eliminator match.
Long way to go yet of course.

Yep have to agree I think Gateshead will fall away at some point but have done well to be where they are considering some people had them down as relegation candidates at the start of the season. Interesting note about Ebbsfleet and Eastleigh - we play both in January, the former at home and the latter away. Both clubs have reacted positively to a change of management during this campaign.
