It might explain their rather limp effort in their foray into Europe in the Irn Bru Cup

I'd be interested to know whether clubs are expected by the National League to remain politically neutral. If so, expect some censure to come their way. It goes without saying that everyone is entitled to hold and express their individual political opinion, be they footballer, manager, chairman or otherwise, but to express a political opinion on behalf of an entire football club, to the best of my knowledge, that is without precedent. I would agree that the governing body may take a dim view of this...

Football's Holy Grail is that it mixes Right with Left, Doctors and Shop Assistants, Labour and Tory, Remain and Leave, black & white etc. At our individual clubs we are all one and all equal, once you start to bring the outside world in you will cause divisions within your own ranks. This. This is what I was trying to say but didn't do it very well. At a time when most clubs are seeking to increase the diversity of their fan bases, Boreham Wood appear to be attempting the exact opposite. If you want an echo chamber then join a group dedicated to whatever stance you hold. Don't push out everyone in a group totally unrelated to it until only "people like you" remain. Oh, and let's not forget footballers are also human beings who may have political opinions. They're not all brainless pretty boys and they can choose who to play for too...

Agreed - had it appeared on a BWFC message board, that would be an entirely different matter. Having said that, it's still divisive. As i've mentioned before, I'm also a Gillingham fan and two of the biggest "burner" threads have nothing to do with football; one is Brexit related and the other is an open debate on the virtues (or lack of) of a certain Tommy Robinson, or Stephen Yaxley-Lennon, or whatever he's calling himself today. Either way no good will come of having that rubbish on a football site.

Boreham Wood are perhaps the only VNL club who could have quickly polled all of their fans - the whole 43 - and obtained a perfect sample of the club view.

If only Boreham Wood would follow suit.

If only Boreham Wood would follow suit. Let's face it. They only exist with their kindly projected 43 fans with a team that play on an absolute carpet of a pitch due to the fact that Arsenal Women play at the same ground. With the average gate they get they would be Isthmian League at best.

Story down and tweet removed as "if it never happened". Obvious class shown by Boreham Wood. I'm looking forward to parting with my £20 (as that is how much they are charging this season) when we go there in April for that shoddy experience.

One of those grounds where the only saving grace is, it's local. £20 is ridiculous, you can watch league one football for that price. In fact, I saw Anderlecht for roughly that price last Sept!

So they don't even have the courage of their convictions, and neither do they consider it necessary to provide an explanation for their retraction. Shoddy is the word.

Still on BBC Sport News website though under National League as ”Club’s ‘weird‘ 1,400-word Brexit post.” That’s just in case anyone hasn’t read it yet.

Boreham Wood's new ambassador Theresa May is about to make a statement outside 10 Downing Street. Bizarre that she didn't pick Meadow Park as the venue but there we are. Maybe she's read this thread.
Hopefully I picked the correct places to use apostrophes this time.
