The announcement is that as a birthday present for delboy Sutton United have bought our Dundee and we are going to play in the Scottish Premiership to show them how to play footy, with Roarie playing a la Jimmy Greaves as a goal poacher😆

I'm not sure how many National League clubs offer online ticket purchase, but I think it may still be a minority. I note that there's no discount here for advance purchase. Our admission prices are pretty competitive for the division, so maybe there wasn't much scope for that. But it means there's not much incentive to buy online, particularly when you factor in the nagging worry about what happens if the game is called off or you can't get to it on the day.

I noticed it yesterday on the website. I did try it and it did not work, no better today

No it's not, we should have had online tickets sales years ago.

Seems very shonky - I gave it a go too, and took at least 4 attempts before it even registered a ticket in my basket.
I think the Aleman is correct in his assessment. Although it's something we've been missing and we're behind the curve on (I can think of more than half the clubs in our league who offer online ticket purchases) and it's good to have the facility, there's zero incentive for people to buy tickets. The price is the same, supply for league games outstrips demand and you won't (as I can see) get in the ground quicker. One could argue that it may commit a few extra people to the game, but we're missing a trick here. Even a discount of a quid or 2 would make all the difference, or something which will make people think "Yeah I'll book online" because at the moment, it's easier and less hassle to pay on the gate and therefore the "experiment" is more likely to fail.

I repeat: No one is forcing people to use it. It's just another option.

Obviously this a trial run at the moment. And yes while for the local or long term fan there isn’t much incentive, for an exile or a first time visitor it may make the day easier. Not to mention for away fans. Whilst at the moment supply outstrips demand, we are aiming for the playoffs and who knows if we’ll get another big cup run in the next season or so. Better to have online sales with the kinks already discovered ironed out for such an eventuality imo. Although we definitely could have had this before

A welcome and well overdue development, but how utilised it will be remains to be seen. I certainly can't see it having much impact in the short term - even if we make the playoffs, last season's semi-final attendance for our home game vs. Boring Wood was just 2730 so well within our current ground capacity..
