A quick turnaround from Saturday’s disappointing loss to Barrow as we host Barnet in our game in hand (just 10 days on from that excellent win at The Hive - whoever started their match thread is seemingly still bitter from that game!!!).
In the post-match interview on Saturday Dos alluded to both Thomas and Davis potentially being fit and available for this one which will provide us with better options I feel. I’m guessing new signing Jonathan Barden is still awaiting international clearance so tomorrow’s match might come too soon for him- Dagenham at the weekend might be more realistic?
A win would be very handy in this one and could lift us as high as 4th (depending on Fylde v Havant result).

I like this on their forum after a couple of players were seen pissed after a game. Well I have to say, I am outraged, disgusted and outraged! Why did they not use the Hive Bar for their drinking session. That way our turnover would have gone up a little bit more.
Time for some changes to the team I think:-
----------------------------Ricky Mullered----------------------------
--Adam Grolsch------Simon Green King IPA---Jeremy De Mangledhaze----Damian Battered
--Nicky Baileys----Michael Bleary---Max Strength Porter----Jordan Obitarated
-----------------------Downthe Hatch----Toby Oshitfaced-------------
With Currie on the bench to come on afterwards.Link to photos here.

Here's hoping for record takings at the Players' Bar tomorrow night, although the record set on 17 January 2017 will certainly take some beating. Easty's Aftershock consumption alone was truly prodigious....

I’m looking forward to this one - my first visit to GGL since November 24th v Maidenhead (work has got in the way) and I’m bringing along 4 potentially new fans - so won’t be in the gantry but chewing fat in the stands....

I understand that the ground is going to be segregated for this match.
Are Barnet fans not to be trusted?

Doesn’t seem to be a man(ager) full of confidence.

Let's hope that it's Sutton on a high at 9.40 tomorrow evening. 😁

I feared the worst when i saw half our defenders were missing but was more than happy that we came away with a point although we had chances for all three.

Not too many highs this evening. Considering that we only had two recognised outfield defenders on the pitch, 0-0 wasn't a bad result. Deacon and Bolarinwa filled in at FB, with Bennett partnering Collins at CB. As open a game as this promised a feast of goals, but both sides were guilty of some woeful finishing, Sutton the greater culprits. Kearney came on as a sub again and showed plenty of energy; a bit more experience at this level and his first NL goal will surely come.
The point takes us back up to 6th.

All things considered this was a good point. Both our stand in full backs did a great job to help get a clean sheet (probably guilty once each of diving in but that was it). Think we just about edged it on the chances front, though they missed what was basically an open goal too. We fight on. Hopefully we can get some players back fit!

I think the back 4 and Worner should get huge credit for last night. They negated virtually all of Barnet's threat and the very few occasions they got through, Worner was up for the challenge. From what I've seen in the last few weeks, Bulter is going to have a very hard time getting back into the side.
Up front it was a different story though. I thought the only one who could have made a difference last night was Toure, who was pretty unlucky to hit the bar (when maybe he should have passed) and Kenny's scoop (where maybe Toure should have gone alone).
In the scheme of things, a useful point last night bearing in mind how many first choice players were not available.

“Why do we love football? Because over there, in that dug-out, we are all the same.” Anyone who has managed a parks team will have looked at the shrapnel remaining from his team-plan - after seeing who turned up - and thought ‘Real football managers don’t have this problem’. So team managers amongst the U’s fans will have experienced schadenfreude at the dilemmas facing Dos & Co this week. Saturday proved that our experience holds good at a higher level. If you only have 2 midfield players and 4 forwards - you are best to play 4-2-4 and man mark the opposition’s back line. Because getting a forward to become an instantly-competent midfielder does not work. Tuesday’s exchanges can only be imagined, but would be familiar to the parks boss. “Roarie, I want you to play left-back.” “But I’m a left-winger Gaffer.” “Yes and so’s Tom, but we’ve got 2 left wingers tonight and no left-back.” “Tell you what, I’ll do a half if he does a half.” “Deal.”
