Was it one of these sort of games ?Billy: Imagine a brilliant game of football that had you hooked from start to finish because both sides played some great football and it could have gone either way so it kept both sets of fans excited. Let's say a 4-3. Now imagine that exact same game except none of those 7 goals actually crossed the line. That's the only difference. The football was just as good...but so were the goalkeepers! It's been a bit like that for us. Some really exciting football. Just not with actual goals. I know you love a high scoring match, but a game of football can be great without goals too! You may disagree but I had a great time watching these goalless games.

Has Billy even been to a game this season, or has his well documented penchant for cricket taken precedence...

Well, I enjoyed it. It was end to end, chances created, a bit of needle and the result was in doubt until the last minute. Given the team we out out, a terrific performance and a hard earned point. But perhaps I’m easily pleased?

I enjoyed it too. I was a bit critical of Williams on the night as he seemed to be out jumped for every header but that's understandable if he hasn't been well. Dos has said he expects the same line up on Saturday but he is known for pulling a rabbit out of the hat !

Well I for one like the opinion of people who were at the match and actually saw what went on, have an idea about the context and can make a bit of a rational assessment of the game.
I tend to ignore those people who think it's "a poor ref" everytime we don't win (the ref may not have been the best last night and there were a couple of times he was close to losing control, but it was pretty clear to everyone who saw the game last night that he had no influence on the result).
I also ignore those who by default think that a 0-0 was a rubbish game because no goals were scored. We had a pretty threadbare side last night and getting a point against a competent but unremarkable side in those circumstances was a good point. I know I've seen less entertaining games that we've won.

Had a chat with Paul post-match and he’s got his fingers crossed for Hartlepool on the 02nd of March for returning players.

A feisty, goal less draw. Seen a lot worse matches with goals and this could have gone either way as the clock ran down. U's started brightly bt with the wind on their backs sometimes the ball was hit too hard to take any advantage. Both sides had one decent charge in the first half. Ross W made a fine save from a shot from distance and their fella should have done a lot better than find the side netting on the follow up. Then Sweeney mis-controlled and Gime T, who once again upset their back four with his pressing, got into the box left the recovered Sweeney on the deck, rounded the 'keeper then smacked his shot onto the crossbar. Other options were available to him but can't blame him for shooting in that position.
Second half, Craig E blocked and then ran away but hit his shot too close to the 'keeper who was able to divert the ball for a corner. Another Gime run ended with Kenny D skying his effort well over, perhaps Gime should have taken the shooting option himself. Barnet went close with a header shortly before the final whistle.
The match was played with decent pace and you have to credit U's considering they had just two recognised defenders and with three Academy players on the bench none with any NL experience, in a tight match like that it was up to the starting XI plus Dylan to see out the fixture.
As I say Feisty too. Barnet players had a habit to reacting to tackles and that caused a couple of flare ups. I don't remember U's players reacting in that manner when Sweeney tried to put Gime T into the stand at The Hive but there you go. Not an easy match for the ref and he didn't always pass the test. Jonah A's booking was a result of not getting a free-kick for a blatant foul on him. He reacted, got a talking too and was booked for a second offence later. Took too long lecturing their players. If dissent is that bad, then it is a yellow, surely?
Barnet forum reckon we're nasty. Didn't like our ground, blah, blah. Well, Sweeney is such a nice fella on the pitch, eh? We didn't shoehorn their fans into one corner and oh, yeah, they can afford a team coach to a local London match but can't afford to print a proper programme. I know what club I'd rather be with, thanks all the same.
Onto D&R for another tough London based fixture. Will we have any players left as this illness sweeps through?

Sweeney was absolute muck at Maidstone when they played him midfield. I remember us robbing him at will in dangerous spots. Still a liability and no surprise to see Barnet struggling with that ‘ball playing’ centre half. Always wanted forever on the ball and that remains the case. Unless it’s a 10-15 yard sideways pass it will usually end up out of play somewhere. If he was as good as he thought he was he’d be in the top couple of divisions and Barnet would be in the top 2 or 3.

The only shots Sweeney has ever been good at were the ones he did at 3am and posted on his instagram!

There were reports of trouble before the game. Did anyone see it?
From the Barnet forum:

What happened with the 'early kick off' outside the ground?

Out of nowhere about 30 young 'uns having a punch up in the street near the train station. Hopped into someone's front garden to get out of the way. :ouch: No police or stewards anywhere.

Yes, I heard about this in the Players' Bar before the game, although I didn't witness anything myself. Apparently it happened shortly before kickoff outside of the ground and none of the youths involved were wearing colours, so it's unclear what the affiliations of those involved were.

A group of about 10 youths attacking another group of about 3 youths. Fracas happened all the way up the drive up to the turnstiles. One particular youth (wearing a tweed flat cap) really was trying to get quite violent. Sadly no official in sight with the exception of young Johnnie, who should get a massive amount of credit for trying to calm it down on his own. Seriously impressive. Trev is right, none of them had colours on, and I didn't recognise any of them as our regular youth following. As they seemed to be heading for the home turnstiles, one could presume they were all local, although hard to be sure.
