Well, this certainly isn't the first time. I remember when the club was in serious financial trouble about 15 years ago and a group of assorted fans from a non-league forum went up there to show support by sponsoring the match ball at one of their games. Gateshead responded by providing us with excellent hospitality that I'm sure must have cost them more than the amount we donated to them. Maybe that explains something!

Gateshead in March 2019.
Found a buyer
Lost a buyer
Lost their ground
Worrying times for them

You've got to wonder how they managed to sustain National football on their crowds for as long as they have. This year they average around 850 and that is bumped up by large followings from Hartlepool and Wrexham.
Voluntary relegation on the cards? It would probably help in the long run

It's mystifying that in a city utterly united in its love of football, content to keep filling the coffers of a maniac owner only interested in running once proud brands into the floor for profit, a real, traditional grass roots team can't garner more support. I can only guess at the reasons, but I'm not sure the international stadium is the sort of ground that helpe foster grass roots support. It certainly left me cold and I'm not sure I'd watch football there regularly myself

Their potential buyer has just pulled out, the company that washes their kit have refused to do so as the club owes them £1,000. Players have still not been paid, even though it was promised on Monday and Tuesday.
I think Havant and Aldershot still may have something to play for because it's looking less likely that Gateshead will be in this league next season, and even existing.

Havant 3 points better off and 16 goals better off if there is a fight for 4th from bottom. They play each other on the second to last match day of the season. Might add a bit of intrigue to two teams that look doomed. Hope Gateshead don’t disappear but staying in this division would be almost reckless. Need to drop down a couple of divisions.

They both might escape given the goings on at Ebbsfleet as well. Thank God we have Bruce, Dos and the other wonderful hard workers at this club running the club properly.
