Good honest appraisal from Bairdy.
Difficult job stepping into Dos's shoes.

Not sure it would have been any different if Dos was there. Pretty much the same team picked against Gateshead and showing the same level of form that we have for the last three months. Dos knew we had no chance of the play offs and that we would continue in the same vain. I am sure the conversations have revolved around the season already over without the ability to make any substantial changes, so the time was right to have a well deserved rest. I thought Dos normally goes away around this time of the season anyway?

Good honest appraisal from Bairdy. Difficult job stepping into Dos's shoes. Yes, admirably straight talking from Bairdy, as we are used to from Dos. Both of them can indicate when they have seen an unacceptable performance without ranting. However they have a strong track record of moving on strikers who don't score, and even players who have a contract next season won't be holding down a first team place with performances like today's.
Bairdy is correct about the poor goals conceded but there are excuses for the defence, which was makeshift at best.

Yes, the strikers were pretty average yesterday, although I felt Kearney gave another good performance. However they weren't helped by the poor crossing and slow build up play which usually left them facing a wall of blue shirts. Whilst we continue to play with this sideways and neat but ponderous passing game we are enevitably going to be picked off when it goes wrong with a swift counter attack. Looks like even average sides like Chesterfield know that this is the way to play against us.
