As we've just gone into the final month of the season, and it's looking increasingly unlikely we're going to nab a play off spot (although anything could happen), here's the current state of play in terms of who we could be facing next season (and who we wont)
League 2
It's looking more and more like 2 out of Notts County, Macclesfield and Yeovil. Anyone's call on that as there's 1 point between those 3. I don't think those 3 play each other again this season, but all of them are due to play Northampton in April so they will have the biggest say on who gets dumped out of the league. Macclesfield have a game in hand (against Exeter) and a point from that will put all 3 clubs on the same points.
National League
Looking very much like the current bottom 4 will leave us. Braintree of course have already gone with Maidstone following them on Saturday if they don't beat in form Salford. Havant are 8 points from safety and Aldershot 11 with 5 games to go, and could also be relegated on Saturday if other results don't go their way. At the top, it's Leyton Orient's to lose as they go for the non league double and depending on other results, they could well clinch the title at ours on April 13th.
National North
2 horse race for the title between Chorley (remember them from the late 80s?) and Stockport.
National South
After what looked like a 2 horse race, Woking are choking a little and handed the initiative to Torquay who are 4 points clear with a game in hand and 6 games to play.
So there could be a whole number of former league opponents from our first stint in the Conference joining us next season (Yeovil, Macclesfield, Chorley), some more recent (Torquay) and possibly a new league opponent (Stockport, Notts County). I think there's only one of those we've never played before.
I'll look at the play off spots in a couple of weeks!
