Less than a month until the first league game and based on Matt's recent interview our squad is still about 6 players light - and I would anticipate (hope) that at least 3 of those would be 1st team starters. Doesn't allow much time for players to form partnerships and to get to know each others' games.
I don't blame Matt - he has inherited a difficult situation - but concerning nevertheless.

I'm not concerned at all. Stockport have made one signing and others are in a similar situation. It's all been explained before. I expect some player news in the next week or so though as Matt has alluded to this.

And of course we do finally have a Meet the Manager on the 15th, after we've played our first friendly (that we can turn up to!)

As it stands we don't have a squad that can compete with the demands of a NL season, and the only statement from the manager about new players coming in soon didnt happen. Not saying he didn't mean it at the time, but I think it's not unreasonable to wonder if it's all going to plan

Not saying he didn't mean it at the time, but I think it's not unreasonable to wonder if it's all going to plan I think you make a really good point. As it stands and yeah I don't think it's unreasonable to wonder at all if it's going to plan. But even if it isn't, there's actually nothing we can do about. We can't make players come to the club, we don't hire and fire. Yes we may be "fans owned" but that still gives the fans no more say in these decisions or any significant voting rights. Personally I think that many fans, with justification too, feel that since the new regime came in, there's a disconnect between that regine and them. But then part of that could be the fact that we've been spoilt in that area for 11 years now and it's going to be a tall order for anyone to recreate that. I'm reserving judgement until firstly the Meet the Manager and secondly when the season is in full swing. I have no idea if this appointment is going to be a masterpiece as Dos, Barrie and to a certain level JR was, or whether it's going to be the utter disaster that Ian Hazel was. As long as us fans who go week in week out are not fobbed off and there is honesty between the two parties, I think that's a level of respect for each other that's totally acceptable to both, even if things don't go well. But this is football, and rationality doesn't usually go hand in hand with blind passion.

In fairness to club management, the indication given was that further signings would be announced in July. As things stand, we're now into the 5th working day of the month so the "wait until contracts run out at the end of June" explanation still holds.
Saying that, the further we get into July without new signings being made, the more concerned I will become.
I'm not in "Permission to panic, sir!" mode just yet, but then again, I'm not far off...

Yep, too early to make snap judgement, nothing has happened to show anything is or is not going to plan.

Oh we are a full time club apparently. That's news Local hacks always get it wrong. The number of times they've said that and said we have a 4G pitch...

Also nowt to do with this thread but BT show moving to 7.30pm on Saturdays, looks although they will take live feeds from all matches.

Another addition in left winger Will Randall. Another young player with something to prove. Starting to look like a strong squad.

I missed the last two PSFs as I was in Germany. Have we sorted out the left back position yet?
