I've not learnt much in a lifetime of following Sutton United to damn near every game they've played home and away for twenty years but what I have learnt, is that postseason is the time to have a break and do something else. Otherwise, you'll go mad.
If we all dropped this forum from today until the 16th of June, took a month off worrying and moaning about everything, we will have missed out on nothing of note but the new season would become a much more enjoyable prospect just because we gave ourselves a break.
By all means, look forward to giving Dos a big hug or a handshake, a thank you or a good luck message when we play Havant in pre-season but take the opportunity to rest, relax, realise the world moves on and we can't control everything.
You'll feel better for it. I promise you.
(I'm well aware this comes from somebody who doesn't the best track record of not appearing to be utterly consumed by wanting Sutton United to do well but when we have a month or so with no games, try a bit of time off, this forum isn't the world and nor is Sutton United)

There's quite a fine line between talking about something to process your feelings about it/get it out of your system, and dwelling on it for too long. I think you're right, most of us have probably reached that line now.

Last time I saw such an outpouring of grief was when Princess Diana died

This is closer and more personal to us than that was, though. We're a bit like a family here at SUFC. You'd certainly see a stronger outpouring of grief behind the closed doors of a family who had just lost someone. Fortunately this time nobody's died and what we've lost isn't a life, but it's still important to us. More so than the loss of a public figure. Human emotion is weird and complex.

Not so much grief, more incredulity at OP labelling his/her personal opinion as incontrovertible truth. Not even Hugh Briss would have gone that far..

I wouldn't waste your time worrying about the OP to be honest. Anyone who, in their first post decides to label themselves as "controversial" and adds a smiley emoji is a troll and isn't to be taken in any way seriously. He/she wanted a reaction and they've got it.

It seems there are a lot of narrow minded sheep who post here.
I aired a view in which a few others that I have spoken to also shared, and I maintain that the parting was done badly. However, I respect what Dos has said in his post and that he obviously still has a passion for this club. He made some valid points, and I am prepared to believe his statements. My intention was certainly not just to provoke, like some are suggesting.
But as for this silly, 'he who disagree's with me is a troll' mind set, coming from a few of you here, it is the same old tiresome bull we see too much of nowadays. I hope, and I am confident, that the new management team are not going to be as narrow minded in their outlook.
If posting here requires that you cant speak out an opinion without having some stick beating to get back in line! I shall give it a miss.
Have a splendid evening.

Bloody hell. You were late with the initial post and now this follow up weeks after the last post. Where have you been? The international space station?
Just to educate you. Anyone can post on here what they want (within reason) but by doing so don't expect everyone to agree with you and not to post their disagreement.
If you don't like it don't post in the first place.

I'm looking forward to this predicted religion scrap. I've seen Blues Brothers and my money's on the nuns.

It's not that you aren't allowed to disagree. That's fine. It's just that many of us (myself included) felt you were being really disrespectful to someone who has done so much for our club and expected nothing in return. Some people thought your post was so ridiculous you had to be trolling as nobody would say such a thing and mean it, surely? That's not the same as you not being allowed to hold that opinion. You are allowed. Your original post is still there. If you disagree with this, then that's also fine. You're entitled to.
