One and half bloody hours to get there, Gary the (Spongebobs) snail could have done it quicker! Terrible game which lacked any sort of quality from either side, as for the pitch I have seen flatter mountain ranges. We were not quick enough on the ball with Harrow crowding midfield and closing down early, causing us to either lose possession or play hopeful balls forward. Harrow just launched the ball forward at every opportunity, it was not a good game to watch, a draw was probably the right result. The ref did not seem to understand that a push in the back is a foul allowing several including one which nearly led to a Harrow goal go unpunished.
We got a point which is better then losing I suppose. I cannot imagine what the air quality is like there and I bet the avarage speed is less now then when horse and carts drove the streets!

Nil-Nil flattered both teams, plenty of effort from both sides but no quality. Afterwards a home official remarked that it had been a good game. Perhaps that explains the gate.

Poor match overall, but then on that pitch it was hardly surprising. Kev made a couple of decent saves, but our 'makeshift' defence kept out Harrow well, and not conceeding there will be a bonus come the end of the season. Piss poor crowd there too, the majority of which were Sutton. Its always a shame when I see established Ryman teams like Harrow get poor gates.
Wealdstone on Saturday will be interesting, they are getting their form, plus wintery showers are forecast for the afternoon!

Not a great game. Didn't think the pitch was that bad really. Ok, not as good as it's previously been at Earlsmead, but hardly a ploughed field!
Positives were keeping a clean sheet with the makeshift back four despite a barrage of corners & set pieces, Scrivs making a couple of good stops and it's another point on the board.
Negatives? Well, we created the better\clearer chances, but again failed to take them. Last night is the sort of game where promotion is won & lost. Nicking tight results 1-0 when you're not at your best. We really REALLY need to punish sides when we get opportunities. Also looks like we've lost BWG & Murray for the Trophy tie thanks to accumulated bookings.
Set up 4-3-3 same as saturday and whilst it got a bit of early joy, once Harrow flooded midfield and pushed their men out to the touchlines, we were a little stretched and had to defend a fair bit.
The other annoying thing was our preference for trying to play everything at a million miles an hour. Sometimes, a high tempo is good, but last night playing a man 'short' in the middle, the amount of possession we tossed away by playing blind 'hollywood' balls first time was just silly, yet whenever Jolls lost his man and needed that early little knock into the channel, we took an extra touch and either picked the wrong option entirely or the chance for Jolls was gone.
Ok, it's a point on the board, but a chance missed to put some pressure on the rest of the league I think....

Frustrating evening. Some of our approach play was alright to watch but that final ball into the box let us down big time. 2 points dropped and it took me an age to get back.

It's surprising how few people are turning up to watch these games. You'd think a lot more people would be keen to go out on a cold Winter's night and pay a tenner to get in and watch games which as often as not end up 0 - 0 or 1 - 0.

Also looks like we've lost BWG & Murray for the Trophy tie thanks to accumulated bookings. I'm double-checking but I think they're both on four, not five and should therefore be available. Confirmed - as long as they don't get booked on Saturday, 27th Nov they are available.

Correct but in 6 out of the other 8 away games Sutton United have registered a grand total of one goal. Eh? Talk about manipulating statistics Billy - in the league (you really can't count cup games - they are always likely to throw up anomalous results, particularly those for which we don't play our first team so can't compare them to league results) we've scored 14 goals in 9 away matches: yes, three of those have been 0-0 draws and one a 1-0, but if you biased the stats in the other direction for a change you'd also see that we've scored 14 goals (and conceded 5) in the other five matches. Two of our away matches have had 5 goals; another three have had 3 goals. "As often as not 0-0 or 1-0" versus "19 goals in 5 games, almost 4 goals per game." Each is true for approximately half of our away matches this season. The one you pick depends on whether your glass is half-empty or half-full. Or you could try looking at the stats of all our games together, not just pick those that support your argument. And the excitement lies in the fact that you never know what you are going to get.

I enjoyed the game, paid £9 to get in, and did not think it was cold!

I have nothing but admiration for you mate , and all the others that get to all these games , especially the young lady on her bicycle. The dwindling numbers turning up at matches must tell us something though.........................

What does anomalous mean by the way ? I only went to Glastonbury and left armed with four "O" levels , one of them in English.

Its just as important to see how our home gates pan out. If I'm right, our average this season is our highest for 5 years. Last night, to me it looked like we easily outnumbered the home fans. And that's not the first time thats happened this season
