According to official website, the game is on!!
Thank god for that. I was getting that desperate for a game, I was considering popping down to Tooting if the game was off.
Come on the U's!

Poor first half but scored at a great time just before the interval - a looping header by Forbes over the keeper. Very liitle shape to the match in the first 45 minutes and Carshalton did control much of the play, indeed they could have scored twice early on but fluffed both chances. The pitch was quite difficult but credit to Carshalton for getting the game on. The second half saw a much more compact display and we looked more confident. A second goal headed home by BWG following a fine header back across the penalty area by Craig Dundas effectively secured the points because (apart from the initial chances early in the game) we dealt with Carshalton's attacks quite comfortably. In this respect Sam Page was excellent and Kennedy also had a fine game. Not a classic match by any means but quite entertaining in the second half. (The goalkeeper must have regretted his decision to wear a snood) So good to get points on the board when other teams have not played. Not sure about the crowd figures - looked more than that to me and a good turn-out as usual by the United supporters.

A bit lucky , Scriven handballed it outside the box just before the first goal.Good looping header by Forbes though. They had two one on ones early on and mucked them up.Their six was a good player , especially in the first half.

SNOOD - 0, to the Super U's... SNOOD - 0, to the Super U's...
I must be out of touch - I'd never even heard of one before today...

Save for the first 5 mins when they had two good chances (and by the way credit to Scrivs for making two fine saves) Robins rarley threatened. That said we didn't have many chances either but Forbesy's header right on half-time gave U's a foot hold and when BWG made it 2-0 early in the second half that was it.
Well done to Robins for getting the game on but the pitch was never going to allow either side the luxury of being fluent and so it proved.
2-0 at Colston Avenue makes for a good Christmas for one side of the Borough and in the end it was relatively comfortable.
Shame about the bookings, all for technical offences, but all correct. Thought the ref did ok but their 5 must have ben close to a second yellow and their six, a good player, also got away with persistent infringment (about 5 fouls).
A classic? No. But who cares - 3 points and none of our closest rivals playing?

Credit to the bobbins for getting the game on, and for putting on a decent performance but overall the stronger side won the day.
We were certainly shaky for the 1st 15mins and could have been 2 down, but we slowly got to grips and really grew stronger as the game went on. The goal could not have come at a better time us and when Bradley scored after the restart I don't think the Bobbins looked like getting back in the match. If anything we looked more like extending our lead as time went on. Not sure if Dundo dived from my angle as I was dead in line, it looked a little theatrical but any contact from the keeper its a pen?
I thought Bobbins passed the ball well in mid field but their attack came out second best to our defence which was secure from about 15mins in. I think it was a good job done away from home against a decent side, but not a classic performance by any means.
Kev very alert as usual atoned for his own error earlier on and looked assured all afternoon after that. Dundo is my MOTM for his energy and drive, Page had a fine game at the back also.
A good day to get the win with other sides not playing, its a long way back for sides like Lowerstoft, 4 games in hand and 12pts behind etc.

Big games for Bury, Lowestoft and K's tomorrow. It was never going to be free flowing given the pitch and the break from playing. To take 3 points was all that mattered, so we can't ask for more than that.
