Right, as it's the last day of 2010 and we're about to start a new decade, what's been your best & worst games of the first 10 years of the 21st century?
Best? How about.... The 6-0 v the Bobbins? 5-0 at Basingstoke to clinch runners-up and Conf South? The 3-3 at Hayes in the relegation season after being 3-0 down at HT? Scarbs in the last minute at Stalebuns for 2-1? The 6-0 v the Bobbins? Beating Hornchurch 2-1 on the last day of Dos' 1st season to sneak into the play-offs? Vaggy in goal, Taffs hat-trick & 4-3 win at Eastbourne in the FA Cup? Dom O'Shea in the last minute at Eastbourne? The 6-0 v the Bobbins? Matt Hann putting us into the first round at Aylesbury? Notts County at GGL? 3-2 when already doomed at Bath?
As for the worst, what about.... 6-0 v K's in the trophy? 4-2 v K's in the play-offs? 1-0 at Chippenham in the cup? Alton in the cup this season? The 4-0 gubbing at Lewes in the league in 2008/9? 4-2 up & losing 5-4 at Dorchester?
I'd have to go with the Bobbins game, with honourable mention to the Basingstoke 5-0. As for worst, probably the 5-4 at Dorchester. Although an utterly miserable 2-0 defeat at Newport in 2008/9 sticks in the memory as well.
What's yours?

Strictly, Taz, if your new decade starts in 2011 then you can't include the 6-0 at Ks (April 2000) in the last decade. Otherwise that would be my choice for worst game.
Here are a few more contenders for best game: the 3-1 win at champions-elect Canvey (with the thrice-taken Nicky Bailey pen) in March 2004 the 5-0 win at Dorchester in August 2005 when we were top of Conference South the 3-1 FAC win at Hampton last season the 2-0 win last season at Dartford (champions-elect again) the 4-3 against Wealdstone this season
And for the worst: the 7-1 home tonking by Grays in the League Cup in (I think) 2002 the 5-1 home defeat to Lewes in Nov 2005 the 4-0 at Wealdstone two seasons ago the 6-0 at Dover in March 2009 that confirmed them as champions there have also been a few SSC embarrassments, including (I seem to recall) a dire 1-0 defeat at Croydon near the start of the decade.
For best game I'm going for H&R away as the win showed we could again compete against a side from Conference South. The 6-0 against Bobbins was great but just emphasised the natural order of things. ;D

To clarify, it's any game played between 1st jan 2000 and today. So if we win twentytwelve nil tomorrow, it won't count.

Well, I only make a handful a season but definitely:
Worst-losing 1-0 to Chippenham (made worse by the twit with the drum)
Best-beating Bath 3-2. That first half was exceptional (2nd half not so!) and it stopped Bath getting in the play-offs.
Although, the resulting hangover from the session with some of you guys afterwards, definitely ranks as one of my worst of the decade!

I will do my best and worst games later but:
The 3-3 at Hayes in the relegation season after being 3-0 at HT?
Is probably the only game that I can think of that appears in both my best and worst list. The game may not come top of either list but I cannot remember a game with such a wild swing of emotion. From the Hayes fans doing the clown tune just before HT to equaliser in added time, and turning to see the usually demure Mr Farebrother looking like the Tango man had just got him ;D

Without gong into it properly beating K's in the SSCF in 2003 was possibly the best & worst for me. A cup final win over local rivals but also the evening my mum died (as K's lined up the free-kick my moble rang as the ball went in, the call telling me what I had been expecting all evening ended.) A sureal minute to be sure.

I know mate , i was there. It was a load of rubbish. I have to agree with billy That game did little for me. From the list. Matt Hann putting us into the first round at Aylesbury was a special moment. 6-0 v K's in the trophy. Up to that match we normally had the upper hand over the K's. That decade is now over

Whilst the Notts County game wasn't a classic, I included it as our only home game against league opposition this decade and was a big deal for us at the time.
They were only suggestions anyway FFS!

Best of the decade
The 6-0 over the Bobbins. 5-0 away at Basingstoke. A fantastic all round team performance. 3-3 at Hayes. I got a bloody nose 3-2 at Bath - How on earth did we win that one. Seriously.
Worst 6-0 at home to Grays, January 2005. Horrible, horrible game 4-1 away at Cambridge City in the relegation season. I knew after we let in 4 in the last 20 minutes we were doomed. It was September. Alton this season. Nightmare plain and simple.
