6 wins will do it but i think that today will be difficult giving the form we have at their place. My prediction is 3-1 win for us.

Anything at all out of today is a good result. The away games today, vs Hornchurch and vs Billericay are our 3 hardest games left IMO.

The stats from Football Web Pages say 26.8% chance of Wealdstone win. 27.9% chance of a draw. 45.3% chance of a Sutton win, and that aggregates to the most likely score of a 1-0 Sutton win. But of course the stats don't take into account runs of good form.

We rather throw that away I am afraid, 1-0 down to a 8th min break and worked hard to get back into the match. Dundo leveled from a tightish angle low across the keeper, then we had them pinned back for about the next 20mins but most of our shots were hit high or blocked with some determined defending from the Stones. They always looked dangerous on the break and in particular down our left the warning signs were there and in stoppage time it was them coming forward and us creaking at the back, and 2 mins into it a move on our left lead to the winner.
Got home to find that there was not too much damage done today, but I don't understand why Dos bought on Fola and why we did not sit a little deeper and see out the game 1-1. It was our desire to go forward in the last which cost us the match, for me I would have brought SM to bolster the midfield and keep what would have been a very good point???
Still is was not an awful performance, we had chances to win the game but did not have our shooting boots on, Wealdstone are a good side but they won't play against a team playing such a high line as us every week.

That was our third straight defeat at Grosvenor Vale, and we've only collected one point from our three trips to NW London this season. Not a happy hunting ground. We were a bit slow to get going today and Wealdstone had just the better of the first half. Our players should have been aware of the danger from Danny Spendlove's deliveries, but he was allowed acres of space on our left flank to curl in a deep cross from which Peter Dean headed Stones in front. Karl Murray had a great chance to bring us level before half-time when he was put clean through but he couldn't get enough control on his shot and it flew well wide. We started the second half much more strongly, and it only took us about ten minutes to equalise. Dundo shook off a couple of defenders as he powered into the box and, although it looked as if his shot went straight in, it seems that one of Jols' golden boots got a slight touch and he's been credited with the goal. For the next ten minutes we looked the more likely winners, as we penned Stones into their half, with sub BWG rampant down our right wing. But as the half wore on the home side gradually got the upper hand again, winning a string of corners and free kicks. As in the game there last season we cracked in the final few minutes after failing to clear our lines. This defeat was affordable, especially as most of the other leading sides lost or drew today. But we need to get back to winning ways against Hendon next Saturday. Incidentally, I see from the Wealdstone programme that they rather enjoyed their win at Kingsmeadow two weeks ago, which meant thye've done the 'triple' over Ks this season. Even so, captioning one of the photos 'can we play you every week?' was rubbing it in a bit.

For the th time in 6 mathes a U's - Wealdstone match was settled by a late winner, with the defeated side deserving of a point on each occasion.
Wealdstone may have had first half supremacy after their 8th minute goal (Spendlove again involved) but U's ballooned two presentable chances over the bar. Sutton started the second half strongly & equalised via the studs of RJ after another powerful surge from Dundo.
Unfortunately, we couldn't make the pressure put on the home defence count with some inaccurate shooting & good defending combining to foil the amber threat. One fine save thwarted Ebs well placed free-ick.
Stones got better late in the half and grabbed the winner 2 mins into injury time - thus avenging U's late rally at GGL earlier in the season in simlar style.
Can't complain about the performance, in what was always going to be a difficult match against an in-form side (top of the form guide now I believe).
A good performance too from the ref, although their time-wasting tactics in the first half should have been clamped down on.
Hendon, next Sat. If we are to finish top of the pile, the home matches we have left are now must win games. No pressure then!

We shot ourselves in the foot really. Poor finishing upfront and poor defending cost us 3 points today. But fair play to Wealdstone. They had a game plan and executed it. Great save from their 'keeper from Ebs free-kick. IMO that was a changing point. Untill that point it was one way traffic in the 2nd half, but from that moment on Wealdstone got themselves into the game again. One positive is that amongst the 'chasing pack' only Lowestoft took 3 points.

A game that was always going to be tricky. Yes, I feel we were hard done by to lose the game, but I suppose that levels out the 3 points we did rob from them earlier in the season at our place. Generally a good atmosphere and as frakey said, another quite decent ref for this level. First half I didn't think we got going, and really did get going when BWG came on for Kavanagh. Dos has to make that tricky of who to put in place for Downer, and he went with Forbes, who I didn't think had a bad game. We were missing Davis today in midfield, and it showed a little too much in the first half.
2nd Half much better, Dundo again putting in a stirling shift, and a goal, which to me seemed like his, although seems have gone to Jolly (I don't care, as long as we score!) and we were in control of the game. We lost concentration in the last 10 mins, and allowed Wealdstone to grab a late winner. To be honest we did have enough chances to win the game, but didn't take them today, although I feel Dundo should have got a penalty when their player fell over in front of him in the box.
Come the end of the season, this result may be irrelevant, and on today's performance there's no need to panic. Winning our remaining 5 home game, all of which is possible could be enough for us to worry less about our away form. 8 wins an a draw from our last 9 games will make us impossible to catch, unless Lowestoft start scoring for fun and win their remaining 13 games. As the only team in the top 6 to win today, they are, on paper, our closest rivals again, with Tonbridge and Kingston cancelling each other out, Bury scraping a draw at home to relegation candidates Folkstone and Billericay losing to Hastings.
Lets hope Wealdstone can carry on their fine form on Monday night, when they face a faltering Tonbridge side with only 1 win in the last 5, and who currently have the worst form out of those in the play off positions

If we can win our 5 home games this is what the others have to do, and its a very tall order for them. One will have to emerge from those chasing very quickly and average well over 2pts a game until the end of the season:
Sutton United (5 wins from 9 = 82pts) = 1.66pts per game Bury Town (8 wins from 11 = 82pts) = 2.18pts per game Lowestoft Town (9 wins from 12 = 83pts) = 2.25pts per game Tonbridge Angels (9 wins from 11 = 82pts) = 2.45pts per game AFC Hornchurch (11 wins from 12 = 83pts) = 2.75pts per game
Kingstonian (10 wins from 10 = 82pts) = 3pts per game

Can't see 82/83pts being enough - but you never now.
