Seems to me that as little as 80 might be enough. Need to make the most of these results by getting 3 Saturday. The sooner we pick up the points the less hope we give the rest.

4 wins from 7 and we win the title unless lowestoft or bury win all their remaining games as our goal difference is effectively worth another point

OS says the stats don't lie and I told you so ;D
These are the only teams which can breach 80pts but in reality they won't all do it.
I now think that 3 straight wins would be enough just to take the title, although we may not know it for sure at the time. Not being arrogant just point out the stats and of course we have to do our bit or we get nowt.
Sutton United 35 - 71 (4 wins from 7 = 83pts) Bury Town 35 - 64 (6 wins from 7 = 82pts) Lowestoft Town 34 - 58 (8 wins from 8 = 81pts) Tonbridge Angels 34 - 59 (8 wins from 8 = 83pts) Billericay Town 35 - 61 (7 wins from 7 = 81pts)
Only Lowestoft or Bury can win all their games as play each other.

Bury have Riccay on Saturday, and Lowestoft i'm pretty sure have to play Tonbridge, so pretty much only one of the chasing pack can win all their games!

cant argue with OS there 3 wins could well be enough and doing against nearest challengers bury at home would be nice, not getting too ahead of steam here but stats are looking good

Oh OS, you forgot Canvey in your list, who can get 84 points and if they win games in hand are higher than Lowestof, Tonbridge and Riccay!

Canvey can get 84 points by winning all their games. Unlikely I know but they still have 9 left so can get 27 more points. So some of the comments above are mathematically incorrect.

Just beat me to it, Andy! Great Minds Dave - Apart from us this weekend, they don't play any teams above them currently this season!

fair point didnt look tht far down but if were realistic its within touching distance now a team surely cant win all their games we can say tht we might have a collapse but we have been so good all season that 3 wins really shudnt be to tough of a task.......just a question.....IF we were to win the league would we lift the title the game we won it OR at our final home game against bobbins IF its won by then

Oh OS, you forgot Canvey in your list, who can get 84 points and if they win games in hand are higher than Lowestof, Tonbridge and Riccay! Yep! missed off Canvey, but if we win 3 on the trot that means they have to win 8 from 8 to get 81pts, so I stick with 80pts takes title according to stats.

What a good evening. It would seem that stuck on the A40 for what seems like an age just a few miles from Harrow's ground and trying to transmit as much positive energy their way as I could, did the trick. Also seems like Bury's coach was fighting the same traffic which I am sure didnt help their preparations.
Can one of the more mathematically talented here confirm whether or not there is any chance that we could win the league as early as Aveley away. I am scheduled to miss that game but have already hinted indoors that plans may have to change if there is any chance of securing the title on April 2nd.
What seemed extremely unlikely then now seems not so and I will not be popular at home if I end up at Aveley. Could somebody get their abacus out and help me out.
Cheers

Mathematically i don't think so. Even if we win against Canvey and Bury lose at Riccay, we will be on 74 points to their 64, and they will have 6 games left - possible points 18 with a 10 point gap going into that game which would leave a 13 point gap with 15 to play for. The earliest we can win the league is against Bury the following week, but we'd need a lot of things to go our way for that to happen. More realisitically it could be home to Hastings, away to Folkstone or Home to Bobbins - but theres a lot to be lost and won before we get to that stage!
