i think a few fans are still way too cautious we have been outstanding all season through and i believe 10 more points will be enough to win the league which based on our season really isn't too much of a challenge. 10 points would mean.... bury need to win 6 of 7 with games vs billericay, sutton & lowestoft all away billericay need to win 7 of 7 with games vs bury, sutton away & w'stone at home tonbridge need to win 8 of 8 with games vs lowestoft, harrow away & w'stone at home lowestoft need to win 8 of 8 with games vs tonbridge, harrow & bury at home canvey need to win 9 of 9 OR 8 & a draw with 6 of those games away from home inc. sutton & hornchurch , concord(local derby) at home the fact that tonbridge and lowestoft have to play each other means only one of those can win all the games that they would need too billericay would need to win all their games one of which is against bury and if they do beat bury would mean bury would have to win all their remaining 6 if anyone actually thinks canvey will win all 9 games they have a screw loose all that said saturday is a tough game canvey have won 9 of 12 since losing 3-1 to us and will be determined to make the play offs but at the same time we have a title too win and an unbeaten home record to maintain. i predict a tight win for us on saturday and too seal the title at folkestone and lift the title home to bobbins on derby day

Instead of buying a normal adult match ticket, I buy 10 'kids for a quid'?
that would beef up the attendance a bit! Ha! Ha!

Those who remember the 97/98 season have every right to be cautious! The fact is however that our lead has increased over the last few weeks and puts us in a strong position.
Bury and Tonbridge will need 3 more wins than we achieve and Lowestoft, Billericay and Canvey need 4 more wins than we get. In a 7/8 game run that is a big ask of any team, but is possible. 4 wins will do it for us, meaning if we beat Canvey, Aveley and Bury, then a win at home against Hastings and we will win the title. The way things stand at the moment, apart from Bradley's 3 game holiday thanks to last Saturday, we do have a full strength squad, plus virtually the best defence in the league, the best strike force in the league which includes the league's top scorer.
But as we know any team can put together a winning run. The fact is that we are probably now in the strongest position we have been all season. If we just carry on what we are doing, the title will be ours. Our current form in the last 8 is W5D1L2. If we carry on at that current rate and have a finishing form of W4D1L2, that would give us 84 points and will win us the league.

Accordingto my formula explained on the mad March thread not one of the chasing teams will win more than half of their remaing fixtures! Not unless they sign a new squad of players.I'll stick my neck out and say we will be 10 points ahead of Bury on saturday evening.

Simplest calculation is we beat Canvey saturady & Bury lose. Gap = 10. Then we both win the following game (against Aveley & Croydon), gap still 10.
We beat Bury at GGL. Gap = 13. Matches to play = 4. Total points available = 12.
All. Over. Cue fat lady.

Those who remember the 97/98 season have every right to be cautious! Not to mention 81/82 where we had a big lead over Leytonsone-Ilford but had played a lot more games than them. We then had to watch them remorselessly win all their games in hand and take the leagie by 8 points. It ain't over 'til it's over!

Dos issued some 'stay onside' type instructions to the Harrow forwards but was sent off by the referee and had to watch the game from the stands. Huh? I was attempting to be humorous.

Maybe the Lewes players had heard of Nigella Lawson's purchase of share's in Lewes and were looking forward to a cracking post match meal
