I can't really see how you can judge if this works or not.Attendances will obviously increase if we are doing well & drop if we are not. There's going to be football on the TV on a Monday night as well. It's not up to me to judge. It's up to the club. I'm just saying what I think their deeper thinking is, and the fact that they've got the balls to try something new. Sorry i wasn't implying that you were judging it.Was there any consultation with our own supporters before changing days ?

It would have been unusual if there was. And not a great idea, I'd say. There would be so much arguing and whinging, we'd never get anywhere. If your favourite restaurant or leisure centre decided to change their opening hours, you wouldn't expect to be consulted as a paying customer would you?

Sorry.I keep reading this Phrase "we are all in it together ". Devil's advocate here - does that not work two ways and could be quoted straight back at some of the most opinionated on here that never actually show their hand in offering anything constructive when help or assistance is requested? Devil's advocate, as I say.

If memory serves, Dos did raise the idea of Monday night football at a q&a sometime ago. I am aware that SCR is also playing Monday nights so it could be to fit into the schedule of hire/usage of the new facility.
With so few home midweek fixtures scheduled, I am not sure how much of an inconvenience the change is. I would suggest it is very little.
One small point though, is that it is perhaps ironic to make the change when one source of Tuesday distraction has now moved from terrestrial tv.
With regards to Chelmsford, their preferred night has always been Monday. I recall going to the old ground on the first night of the week in the 1980's.

Devil's advocate, as I say. Could be quoted back but you wouldn't be correct ! Anyway this forum is meant to be all about opinions and i'm not going to say i think Monday night football is a great idea when i don't believe it is.That is not as to say that the club should not try out different initiatives.

All change is good change, maybe the players could also run out backwards, that would also be innovative.

I don't think the fans were consulted about the switch and there was no reason to be either. Like I said the majority of those fans who would be consulted would come regardless of day. The decision wasn't for us in the first place it was for the potential floaters who do less on a Monday than a Tuesday.
If the board consulted the fans on every major decision not only would I think they are weak, I'd lose faith in their ability to run the club. And aside from that they read the message board so know what topics concern us.

Couldn't agree more. Of course we can all be in it together without everyone being consulted on every decision. How inefficient would that be? We'd never get anything done!

I take your point guys but i just think its too close to Saturdays. If you are travelling to an away game on a Saturday you are less likely to want to do it again so soon so might reduce away supporters coming to us.Football is on the television now 7 days a week and we can't escape that.Success on the pitch will determine how many we get through the turnstiles in my opinion.
I believe we have only one scheduled home midweek game this season and i don't see many coming up from Truro anyway.I'm guessing FA CUP & Trophy replays have to be played Tuesdays or Wednesday but the MM Cup can be played anytime.

The switch will actually have minimal impact. As others have said, we only have one scheduled home match in the evening, and that's early in the season. With the artificial pitch in place we should suffer few - if any - postponements of home games, so the only other Monday night matches will probably be SSC ties and perhaps one or two FAC/FAT replays.
