With all the consternation over our resurrected Trophy encounter with Concord, it's easy to overlook that we've got what could be a rather important rearranged league game tomorrow.
Five weeks ago we lost 1-0 at home to H&Y in a match that, on chances created, we probably should have won. The players have the opportunity tomorrow to make amends for that result, and might have noted that our opponents' 'home' form (at Maidenhead) is rather poor (only one league win all season).
Whitehawk's 1-0 win at Maidstone on Tuesday propelled them back into the top five and nudged us back down to 6th. But with only one other game in our division tomorrow, a Sutton victory would take us above both Gosport and Whitehawk to just a point behind 3rd-placed Oxford City. A draw, however, would keep us 6th.

A game we should be going to win, our league results since losing that game against H&Y are excellent, three wins, eight goals and none conceded, if we can keep tomorrow in line with that not only should we win comfortably at a ground where they have struggled but it will give us a great platform to start building some home form as well.

We'll lose because I'm going and I never see Sutton win in Miadenhead.

We'll lose because I'm going and I never see Sutton win in Miadenhead. We will win Tony, Hayes can't do the double over us, can they?

Great to pick up the points, fantastic for Fitchett to get goals again.

What a fantastic result for our lads - was following on Twitter today as couldn't make it to the game. That win takes up to 4th now just four points off Maidstone in 2nd.

Thought apart from a few jitters when Hayes scored their goal we used our superior quality along with enough muscle to put a typical Hayes & Yeading side to the sword. A lot of good performances out there, all playing as a team for the team and it shows.
Good to see Fitch get a brace, Ross a couple of outstanding saves when we needed him, and that 9 goals from 3 league matches and just one against.
Can't wait to hear Mark's thoughts on that ref, quite frankly had me beat with what he was doing at times?

Having seen the H&Y vine highlights on twitter it just goes to show that photos don't necessarily show the whole story. Worner is obviously impeded in the build up to H&Y's goal but that didn't show up in my pics.

Well, we took the opportunity to steal a march on our league rivals as they were involved in some tinpot cup competition. Two goals from Dan Fitchett set us on our way, the first a header arced into the far corner, the second an opportunistic snaffling up of a loose ball in the penalty area. H&Y got one back from a corner (see above!) and might have levelled things up in the second half but for a fine save from Ross Worner at his near post. But we sewed up the points when their keeper - who'd had a great game in the GGL fixture, but was less impressive today - could only parry a Dan Wishart fk. That gave us a second bite at the cherry and Jamie Collins (who else?) gobbled up the chance. For the record that's four straight league wins, 4th place, 2nd in the form table (behind Dartford) and the third best goal difference in the division. We just need to keep the momentum going.
