Who will play tonight? To give the opposition a decent game we will need at least 5 squad players to start.

Nicky Bailey should be eligible and I guess he may welcome the game time. Burge and Slabber ineligible

The G's are up for this one. G's Managers Update
We’ve had a good week training after the disappointment of loosing to Ware last Saturday and finished it off with a good win yesterday. 1-0 flattered Aylesbury Utd and I thought we created a lot of good chances when the pitch really didn’t suite good football. As we move forward we need to look at the drainage in the middle of the pitch as its so compacted. Bill worked so hard on the pitch this week and it recovers very well. But to get the water off and make the game possible the sponges do make a mess of the pitch.
This week Neil and I have made it clear that the players focus on our league game first as we needed to go into our Surrey Senior Cup Semi Final against Sutton Utd with a win and a good performance. So credit to the players for a solid professional performance yesterday. Now we can look forward to the Semi Final. With no pressure on the team and playing a top side from step 2, I think we’ll go out and make a really good account of ourselves and a big upset could be on the cards!! I hope many of you will come and support the team and I look forward to seeing you there as part of the G’s army!!!godalmingtownfc.co.uk/gt/managers-update/

Based on Dos' post-match notes from Saturday we'll be still missing Collins, McCallister and Cooper (all injured) plus Slabber and Burge (ineligible, it seems completely farcical to have to wait 28 days to be registered for a county cup match - maybe the Surrey FA should review this ruling)
I'd say Worner will likely be rested so another game for Shaw and Wishart to come back in at left back after missing the last two. Starting berths also for John, Doswell, Bailey, Gomis, Fleetwood, Wright and Dillon.

Yes, could have conceded a few more, defence utterly dreadful.

I get the priorities given to this comp. That said a little astonished at how poor we were tonight. 3 goals my school side would never have conceded and could have been a few more. Yes some of these lads clearly young but the least you usuallly get from kids is a willingness to compete and run about. A senior cup semi final, it looked like our lads were playing in a youth team pre season friendly they were too big time to bother with. Maybe I'm being harsh but that's what it looked like to me. Probably my last county cup game and a disappointing end. Whilst Shawy has filled in well in the past I think it's time for something else there too. Do we not have a young goalkeeper to look at and give experience to?

Do we not have a young goalkeeper to look at and give experience to? Quite frankly. I'd say this competition is about as important as a youth team pre-season friendly. I'm not sure what the crowd was, but didn't think it reached the attendances of the previous home ties of 159 (Walton) and 127 (Knaphill). Clearly very few are interested, why do we keep going in for it? The only bright point was that none of the first team squad players got booked or injured (assuming Tom B's substitution was tactical). The final will be Merstham v Godalming, so at least the Surrey FA will get a first team match!

I think all FA competitions are suffering, they have failed to move with the times and put up prizes worth having, and a complete failure to even look at the league fixture list.
We have to focus on our main job, getting promoted and becoming a sustainable club in the National. The SSC is ideal for the development squad only!

I totally get the "concentrate on the league" thing but what I don't understand, based on last night, is why we bothered getting as far as the semi-final. In 1998-99, the season we caught the runaway leaders to win promotion into the Conference proper, we also won the SSC...and I think we've only won it once since! There's "concentrating on the league" for you

There's "concentrating on the league" for you It's not a case of bothering though, is it? I expect any team we put out to try to win the game and that's exactly what happened in previous rounds, despite the makeshift quality of the sqauds we fielded. My issue is that, if we don't intend to make the best effort to win it, which we clearly don't, we shouldn't go in for it.

I think there is still value in the competition for providing game time to fringe and young players. Was just surprised how poor we were.
