I for one am pleased I like a good drama. Thanks Danny, we are all football club supporters who want the best for our team. If Sutton were my team, I would be distraught if they were deducted points. Alas rules are rules, would the punishment fit the crime, 3-0 up with 20mins to go, for me no, but rules are rules, they have to be the same for everyone, no exceptions. I still think you will win it though, but then again....... UP THE FLEET.

At this point in time no points have been deducted, no fines have been issued and no date has been fixed for a personal hearing (as far as we know). That's the current position. I think a lot of people posting on here need to remember that before they post.

We need to wait for another, more detailed, statement from the club (hopefully fairly soon).

Why isn't there a dislike button? Just quote and do this of course I jest, nothing has happened as yet and i'm sure the players are in a great frame of mind right now that something that is probably nothing wont deter them for the task ahead.

As OS has posted elsewhere and Dos has alluded to in his interview, concentrate on the controllables, worth copying here: We Are The Masters Of Our Fate "Sure I am that this day – now we are the masters of our fate; that the task which has been set us is not above our strength; that its pangs and toils are not beyond our endurance. As long as we have faith in our cause and an unconquerable will-power, salvation will not be denied us. - " Winston Churchill

They are delighted on the fleet forum, saying we will get a points deduction They still need to come and beat us on the 16th and win all their remaining games to have a chance of winning the title. Even with a deduction, we will still take the title if we win all our games. Even with a 3 point deduction we can finish on 87, same as Ebbsfleet. But as we play each other that can't happen.

I thought that the minimum deduction was 6 points given that we did not admit to the charge. Where does it say this in the rules? 6.9 Playing ineligible player in a match £500 - £2,000 And the points gained in match will be deducted.
AND Any Club found to have played an ineligible player in a match or matches shall have any points gained from that match or matches deducted from its record up to a maximum of 12 points and have levied upon it a fine. The Board may also order that such match or matches be replayed on such terms as are decided by the Board which may also levy penalty points against the Club in default.
The Company may vary this decision in respect of the points gained only in circumstances where the ineligibility is due to the failure to obtain an International Transfer Certificate or where the ineligibility is related to the Player’s status only. www.footballconference.co.uk/uploads/docs/Rules.pdfNo mention about doubling the point's deduction if you deny the charge. Why would we just accept the charge if we think it is incorrect? Anyway, let's leave it here and see what happens. Hopefully the title will be decided on the field either way.

They are delighted on the fleet forum, saying we will get a points deduction Would we be different? Not all fleet fans feel the same. What we do know is that Sutton are like the vast majority of non league clubs in that they are well run with honest intentions. In this case it is highly unlikely that Sutton would have deliberately tried to gain an advantage by 'bending' the rules regarding registering players. Sure rules are rules and we know only too well how pedantic the league and FA management can be when a rule is broken. This season has seen three teams break away at the top - we were the pace setters, with Maidstone refusing to be shaken off and Sutton have pursued us relentlessly, slowly getting into a position where they are now favourites. The first reaction to the news of a possible points deduction was always going to be met with some joy by the rest of us and I guess the Sutton supporter's reaction would have been exactly the same if the roles were reversed. However, we had the chance to have sewn the league up by know, and who is to say that Sutton won't wobble in their last few games, and it would be a shame if this campaign were to reach its final conclusion with a points deduction. Let the three teams conclude the season based on their football and may the best team be crowned as champions. Read more: eufcfansforum.freeforums.net/thread/2112/sutton-charged#ixzz45GJ6raoz

Of course they might not necessarily need to beat us or win all their games with or without any points deduction. We still have several other points to earn. Am sure we will drop points, winning 7 straight games (and 10 in 11) seems unlikely at this level. I'd be delighted if I am proved wrong!

In this case it is highly unlikely that Sutton would have deliberately tried to gain an advantage by 'bending' the rules regarding registering players. Particularly since you'd have to be bloody stupid to risk all this just to sub a player on for 20 minutes when you're already 3-0 up.
