The big question! Will we get a guard of honour from the City players

To me the big question is will we continue our unbeaten run. Both our last league titles (in 99 and 2011) we lost the last game of the season (Home to Basingstoke and away at Billericay) 1-0 if I remember right.

We need 30 unbeaten to equal best runs in National leagues, so I don't want to lose this one, lets keep the run going until next season.

As well as continuing the unbeaten run, here are a couple of other reasons for one last hurrah. Dos loves a stat, especially a positive one so here goes.
Avoid defeat and U's will equal the 84/5 season of just 4 losses (2 at home and 2 away). The 2 away defeats has been matched before, 70/1 although that was a 38 game season.
Win tomorrow and the team will equal the 15 away wins recorded in 70/1. The 14 so far equals that of 85/6 the best recorded in a 42 match season.
Currently the 32 goals conceded is the second best in a 42 match season; 31 were conceded during the 93/4 term.

Great to carry on the unbeaten run and get another 3 points on the road, not much more to say really nice that we got the guard of honour from Oxford.
Results going as they did mean Havant get relegated on goal difference with 47 points, a new record for a relegated side in the National League South/ Conference South apart from the odd side that got relegated for off the pitch reasons.

Well the score was indeed 1-0, but in our favour. Fantastic that we finished the season unbeaten. The game was played on one of the worst surfaces I've seen all season, and one piece of class from Tom B was the difference. As a spectacle it was standard end of season fodder, and Oxford showed why they are where they are in the league, quite unspectacular. But a fitting way for us to finish the season with a 100% record in the last month of the season.
Supporters were great today with some very interesting attire! Shame about the one who kept jumping onto the field of play to "rescue" the beach ball floating about. Not big and not clever and certainly not about him. But the rest of you all were great - great voice and great atmosphere and gave the match a good party atmosphere.

I won't post much about the match itself as I watched it through an alcohol-induced haze brought on by a pre-match crawl of five of Oxford's finest hostelries. Suffice to say that Tom B scored again, and I very much hope he's a player we hold on to for next season, while Denzel Gerrar played in goal and didn't have a great deal to do. The game had an end-of-season feel to it - in contrast to the 1-1 draw between these sides at GGL in November which had the intensity of a match between two ambitious promotion contenders. The prospects of the two clubs have diverged since then, with Sutton claiming the title while City have faded out of the play-off picture.

Nice to finish off with a win and looking forward to next season. Something has been bugging me though - why did we wear last season's home kit?

Dreadful game on a dreadful pitch. I'm sure they will be a lot better next season. Great support there today.

Not big and not clever and certainly not about him. But the rest of you all were great - great voice and great atmosphere and gave the match a good party atmosphere. I had the following conversation with a steward near the gentleman in question. Me: (jovially) Can't you chuck him out or something? Steward: Um...I wish I could. But that's not really something I can do. Me: What? Why not? Isn't that your job? Steward: (shrugs) Me: Look, I wasn't being 100% serious, because the guy's a long way from home and we're all caught up in the drama of winning the league and all that. But shouldn't you do something? It's a bit embarrassing. Steward: I know, yeah. Me: Surely it's against ground regs? He's running onto the pitch while a game is in progress. Shouldn't you at least move him? Steward: I know, but... I think I'm a bit...young to do that? Me: You're a steward, aren't you? You've got a steward's jacket. The club wouldn't have given you that if they didn't want you to do the job, surely? Steward: (shrugs) Me: Can't you get backup or something? Where's the older guy in the orange jacket? Steward: Dunno. I have nothing against Oxford as a club, but unfortunately they win the following unfortunate trio of awards from me this season: worst food, worst pitch and most ineffective stewarding. Nice beer though

Great interview with Nicky Bailey in the NLP today. Well worth picking up! Also fantastic to see Dos has been shortlisted for the prestigious NLP 'Manager of the Year' award! He has some tough competition, with Danny Cowley (Braintree), Marcus Bignot (Solihull Moors), Gary Johnson (Cheltenham Town), Chris Kinnear (Dover Athletic) and Paul Hurst (Grimsby Town) also in contention. Ross Worner has also been shortlisted for NLP 'Goalkeeper of the Year'. You can vote by emailing ngavotes@greenwayspublishing.com or tweeting nonleaguepaper
