Would anyone be able to explain why fans were prevented from leaving via the car park exit yesterday. Utterly retarded policy and myself and two other fans ended up leaving instead of getting post match drinks after getting stuck in the tunnel queue for an age, realising the bar would be five deep by the time we got there.
Whoever came up with that needs a real pat on the back for wasting a load of people's time and costing the club money, not everyone wants to stand in a crush at the tunnel and clap off every last substitute. Especially when you dont live in Sutton and need to get back to another part of London.

Rather than it being club policy, I suspect someone forgot to open it.

Rather than it being club policy, I suspect someone forgot to open it. Unfortunately that was not how it was presented by the young stewards who refused to open the gate on health and safety grounds. How actively creating a bottleneck of several hundred fans around the players' tunnel is in the interests of healthy and safety is beyond me. Bonkers policy. Here's hoping wiser heads ensure this doesn't happen again at future games.

I was also prevented from using that exit, as were some Chesterfield supporters who, unsurprisingly, were keen to get away from the ground as quickly as possible.
Perhaps someone from the club will explain.

Another change in policy which we only found out on entering is that under no circumstances are kids allowed to kick a ball about in any part of the stadium. Never been a problem in the past, I know we're there to watch the game but it was pretty harmless and it was half the reason they came. Unfortunately that's 3 kids season tickets that won't be renewed

Not sure how many other football grounds at this level would allow anyone to kick a ball around within the confines of their stadium, especially while the match is going on?
I certainly didn't allow it when I was stewarding maybe accept at h-t. Problem is the ground is busier than it was back then and the club constantly has LBS' H&S guy breathing down their necks.
This is all ignoring the bloody great park next to the ground, of course.

They did watch some of the game, get bored, amuse themselves, then come back to the game etc etc. So maybe include half of em

Good idea, I’d need to check with Billy.

It is not the fault of the tunnel stewards, who are only carrying out the Football Association rules. The tunnel has to be a sterile area until ALL players have left the pitch -that is it END OF !! If you are that Desperate to get a pint then go out of the Turnstiles 10 mins from Time and walk round to the bar so as to not waste valuable drinking time!!!The tunnel Stewards are all volunteers and give their time willingly every home game. They get fed up arguing with the same inebriated twits every week who ask the same questions as to why the gates are closed. If you want to pick an argument do it with the senior Knights Stewards - those in the Orange vests who are paid to deal with confrontation

This was also the case against Notts County. We generally spend the second half in the stand, use the loo at the end and head out of that exit. It is a silly decision, hope it changes.
I think there was an extra hand on the bar this week, it certainly seemed to help with less queuing and I got to enjoy a lovely pint without rushing it. Thanks to whoever listened!

By closing an exit and shutting the tunnel until everyone has left the pitch, you're basically locking people in, unless they're prepared to walk to the park exit. It's a crazy move, and no way safer than letting people out of a gate.

That gate is redundant when it's segregated, but essential when not?
