How many of those clubs have a spare £40000 to splash out with no guaranteed success ?
Also the proposal may go through but the amendment rejected. Its going to be interesting that's for sure.
I'm glad we are not involved but at one stage it looked decidedly dodgy.
At least now, after what seems like a constant to and fro between the league and the clubs, we're now in the best situation we can be. Clubs should be able to take part but if they feel it's too much of a financial risk for them (or other risks) they won't be obliged to do so.
From what I can see, there isn't an amendment to be rejected. The resolution was changed accordingly. The initial amendment I believe presented by York City was that if play offs didn't take place, then 2nd place would be promoted automatically, which the league rejected. They are voting on this resolution
League positions decided on unweighted PPG
Champions of each league promoted
Clubs promoted via play offs if they can compete under government guidance)
National league relegation to make sure that 24 clubs remain in the national league.
The final decision on play offs will be made if the resolution passes. From what I've seen no club has said they will vote against the resolution. Weymouth, Havant, Notts County, Halifax, Hereford, Boston have all declared voting in favour of the resolution (in fact Halifax have come out and said they are ready to start training from Monday).
I can't see how this resolution won't pass.
