Looking good 1-0 up at half time. Very good picture from Dorking. We seem to have a few supporters outside the ground looking in !

Should have been 3 up before Dorking scored but in the end lucky to have come away with a 1-1 draw.

I really appreciated Dorking's live feed of the game, and the accompanying commentary. Dorking can consider themselves unfortunate not to come away 2-1 winners after missing an open goal in the 2nd half, referred to by the refreshingly unbiased commentator as the worst miss he has ever seen.

First of all Stewart why did you go when the club have asked fans not to. Where would we be if we all turned up?

I'm not singling anyone out because I know it applies to a few people. But if fans carry on behaving like this, turning up at closed games and making it known they're Sutton fans, there may well be consequences you don't like. Getting the club into trouble and setting back their plans to get fans back in is no way to thank the tireless volunteers who have been putting vast amounts of time and energy into plans to make watching football safe for us all. The authorities are not going to allow fans back in if we show them time and again that we cannot follow simple rules designed to keep us all safe.
Are we forgetting about that bit, by the way? Covid infection rates are soaring at the moment and it doesn't take a genius to link that with the increase in people congregating socially.
I'm pretty furious, to be honest. Going to football has been an essential part of my mental health self-care for 25 years, and along with many others I'm struggling. Until now, I hadn't missed a Sutton first team home match since the nineties and had only missed one away match since the 2003-04 season. Staying at home when Sutton are playing and not being there is, to me, a MASSIVE sacrifice. I am desperate to stand with my friends at GGL again, there are some people out there I haven't seen all year and want to hug so much it almost physically hurts, and football is such an important part of my identity, such a rock-solid constant in my life up until this year, that I've been feeling completely lost without it. I could have gone to Dorking and St Albans and watched games over fences and I would have LOVED being at those games, but I didn't. I want to do my bit to get us on the other side of this. But if we behave selfishly and don't all make those sacrifices and play by the rules, we will have a very, very long wait for that.

First of all Stewart why did you go when the club have asked fans not to. Where would we be if we all turned up? Maybe I was wrong to go to Dorking to watch a game from a public footpath. With hindsight I wouldn’t do it again. It was just the chance to see my team live - maybe foe several months. I do apologise for letting myself and the club down.

Doesn't matter what one's personal position is on the virus, if you've taken an action that has or potentially could undermine the club and all the work that those directly involved in running the club then you are more a supporter of yourself than of the club.
There are rules we all need to follow. By not doing so potentially damages the club and by choosing not to do so says more about that person than any post on a forum.

Hi, I have made the point on here previously: please do not travel to away games if you do not have a ticket for the game. We are a high profile club playing in a national competition. ALL of our matches are monitored by the police, whether that's obvious or not, and the forces all speak to each other. They are in contact with the LBS licensing department, who have the ultimate say so, no appeal, as to how many people we can admit when we do re-open and even whether we can open at all. Similarly, if we are playing at home behind closed doors do not come to the ground.
We have prepared detailed calculations and put plans in place to admit what we believe to be an appropriate number of spectators when the time comes. A key factor in that is the implicit assumption that our supporters will do as they as they are asked when they are in the stadium but, as I said, our ability to follow the rules at all games, home and away, will be taken into consideration. Individual interpretations as to what is or is not acceptable, whether something is "over the top" etc are not relevant.
Thank you.
