Because it's taking advantage of the situation to impose a measure which hitherto has been deemed unnecessary. I don't smoke btw. If the new measures required me to walk into the ground backwards wearing a chocolate and amber negligee whilst singing Rule Britannia then I'd do it, if it meant being able to see my club in action after nine interminable months without football. It's good that you don't smoke, btw. I gave up sixteen years ago, best decision I ever made, health-wise.

And as DaveF clearly stated, that ban has been put in by those above the club. No advantage taken, and it's rather silly to suggest otherwise.

It will be interesting to see if our season ticket sales suddenly increase. Severely limited attendance at Premier League and EFL may attract some to purchase a ticket to guarantee live football for the foreseeable future

Got my ticket. Can’t wait. Add my thanks to those working behind the scenes to allow us back in.

Hitherto, we were not trying desperately to slow the spread of a deadly respiratory virus. I don't know exactly who made this decision and why (although we know it's not the club's) but if the experts think banning an avoidable activity that necessitates people blowing out air much harder than normal breathing requires would be a sensible precaution in a situation with a lot of people present, I'm happy to listen to them. Dave F and all others at the club who have worked so hard to do this: you are absolutely wonderful, this club is incredibly lucky to have you and we are all so grateful. Thank you.

I presume new ST's are not available on website at moment ??

Dragging this thread back onto topic. We regret that because of the extra pressure placed on our car-park by Covid protocols, for example restrictions on car-sharing, car-park permits already issued to supporters will not be valid until further notice. We will review this as soon as possible. Parking will still be available to Blue Badge holders. Also, we are not able to provide pitch side access to wheelchair users, as this is defined as being within the Red Zone (restricted to participants). Dave, can you explain the logic of this? If car park permit holders come in alone or with members of their own household and do not exit or enter their car except when 2 metres away from another parker - why is that not acceptable? Only the people need to keep the social distancing not the cars.

Simple, more cars for people who have to be there (participants) means no spaces left for spectators. Sorry. As I said, we will review after every game.
EG - Match Officials used to travel in 1 maybe 2 cars, now they need 4. Similarly for players.

Davef, do you know what day the emails containing voucher codes for the Tuesday night vs Chesterfield match are being sent out?
I'm still a bit stumped how to use/present the codes as I don't have a smart phone or a printer. I don't have any friends, in the neighbourhood, who have printers either.
I'm guessing I might be able to login to my email at my closest library and get the print out done there, perhaps. But I may need a day or two's grace to get to the library. It's a busy life.

Try SDC on the corner of the A217 and GGL, I did chat to them and it's only a few pence to print a page - but they are not open Saturdays.
Sorry, I don't know yet when Tuesday's codes will be sent out - Our IT "dept" is a one-man band !

I'll give them a call and see if I can load in the doc if I bring it on a usb stick. Much appreciated. Btw, I did have a smart phone. Then I worked out how much unpaid, out of hours, work I was doing due to having one. Even with a basic Nokia I get endless work txts and calls. Such is life. But having a smart phone wasn't smart for me.

Is it permitted to bring food and drink into the ground tomorrow?

Food, yes (although we might draw the line at setting up a barbecue ) Alcohol is still against the law in a National League stadium. Soft drinks are permitted but not in glass bottles.
