Can't deny McMahon's sentiments on how the match went and you have to wonder why it is only now that his very decent squad is only just starting to perform to the level that they are obviously able.
However, managers make me laugh at times when they look at decisions that go against them. A player doesn't have to have the ball to be fouled and as the case was last night their fella just smashed DA after he had played the ball. Where the ball ends up is irrelevant. Some people used to argue that if a player was going away from goal and was fouled in the box it wasn't a pen. Absolute rubbish.
We had this ref against Alty and had he done his job that afternoon, they would have been down to ten before h-t. I don't think he was great last night and his handling of the first pen was mysterious as he didn't look to have even acknowledged the foul until he spoke to the assistant.
As for Mr McMahon, he perhaps needs to have a word with his players with regards to keeping their discipline, especially in side the penalty area. They didn't last night and two totally avoidable incidents went against them and rightly so.

I thought it was worth sharing this post from the Dagenham forum:
You can see why this Sutton team are doing so well play as a team dont think any of them were outstanding but all seem to do their jobs, not many away teams would have even contemplated the last attack . Under the cosh for long periods, went defensive with their substitutions the ball is in their Keepers hands with seconds left and they go for it and for that they deserve credit .
Oh and I still think Goodliffe was one that got away, looks more assured then most that we have had in that vital position since he left

Just watched the edited highlights on the Dagenham website. Watched the penalties several times, one can understand why Daggers felt upset...but it was our day!! The commentators were great both unbiased throughout the game.

The commentators were great both unbiased throughout the game. I agree. Another example we've seen of good commentary. Without putting a downer on our ones, I have to admit if I was watching some of our home streams as an away fan I'd probably be rather annoyed at the obvious bias that sometimes appears and would have to watch in silence for a lot of it. I think there is a bit of a lack of realisation that people watching the stream are supporters of both clubs. Mixlr is a different audience and acceptable, but really we should be more neutral in our live streaming.

The commentators were great both unbiased throughout the game. They are both pens. First Isaac heads ball on and their fella is late with his challenge and similarly the second one is also a late and quite frankly, a ridiculous challenge to put in. Soft they maybe but both legitimate. I think Ben G was probably lucky to only get a yellow as he was stretching and out of control.

I agree both were fouls and although Tanto falls to the right of the 18 yard box the contact was just inside. The second the defender comes in late and pushes David over.

The first penalty is one of the best decisions I’ve seen given at this level, so much easier to give a free kick outside the box where he ends up but to have spotted the foul occurs inside the box at normal speed is very impressive. Second one is stupid defending and the ref gets it right too. Well done to him and to Harry’s nerves of steel.

Just watched it for 1st time, the 1st penalty is more contentious for me. but no sure how anyone can argue with the second, you just can't take a player out like that and not expect a foul not to be given.

I must admit, it took me two or three views of the second penalty incident to realise how blatant the foul on David was. What a fantastic run by the way, and not for the first time. His form has really gone up to the next level this season. He’s one of several that are now performing up to Football League standard.
