At last the re-arranged xmas fixture at home to local rivals Bromley. Their last six games have been mixed. Won 2 drawn2 & lost 2 but that all goes out the window in this local derby where they will be battling for local bragging rights.
A very tough game expected and once again i expect us to start unchanged . Torquay don't have a game so a win would put us just 1 point below them with 2 games in hand. Notts County have a home tie against Kings Lynn that night & Hartlepool are at Halifax.

De facto top then.
Always a tough game, of course they beat us in the FA cup fixture already at our gaff.

I'd say our two most disappointing performances so far in a generally excellent season have been home to Bromley in the Cup and away to Wrexham in the league. Those clubs are our next two opponents, so this may be the week for the team to prove a point about its quality.
As JR notes above, Bromley will be without Chris Bush. As well as being an important defender for them he's also their long-throw specialist. But they will have Michael Cheek, the division's leading goalscorer.

It's written in the Magna Carta that Bromley must beat Sutton 1-0 in the FA Cup every leap year! Not every leap year. They didn’t in 2000 (tbf that’s the only leap year since I started supporting Sutton in the 90s where they haven’t. Interesting stat, diolch!) Edit- how could I forget 2008 and 2016 (when we didn’t even lose an FA Cup game that year!) Silly me

It's written in the Magna Carta that Bromley must beat Sutton 1-0 in the FA Cup every leap year! It's every other leap year, actually. Every 8 years starting 1996. Although 2004 (I think?) Was 2-1 not 1-0, but same difference in the cup. All the others (1996, 2012, 2020) were 1-0. Think I'll leave the country in 2028

Really hoping we can prolong our superb league form tonight, Bromley however seem to have our number at GGL, knocking us out of the cup earlier in the season, they beat us here last season and I still remember the abject performance against them we put in which I believe was televised when Sutton were going for the league. Was our last win here against Bromley the 2-0 where Hudson-Odoi scored?

We've since beaten them at home on Boxing Day 2018, when Captain Fantastic scored the solitary goal. So we're well overdue another home win today

MIXLR tonight if anyone fancies joining me.
Go easy on me as I am trying to perfect a few broadcasting techniques as I have 2 national radio 📻 commentaries coming up with the BBC.
Enjoy and I hope you’re all well.
SU 3 Bromley (by-bow) 0
(Should be back for Saturday tea time 🫖 v Wrexham as I am reporting on Gillingham v Ipswich for work - KO 13:00 and then planning on breaking a speed record to GGL).
