Another Saturday, another challenging fixture. 5th placed Stockport come to GGL .Some say they are our main challengers but they are 10 points below us and we have a game in hand. The title is currently ours to lose and we have recently been to their place and nicked a win. Tough to call and maybe a lot will depend upon if we are able to call upon our whole squad. Confidence is high so i'm confident of us getting a decent result. Other matches to watch out for include:-
Torquay v Kings Lynn
Hartlepool v Woking
Notts County v Yeovil
Eastleigh v Halifax
I think Torquay, Hartlepool , Notts County & Eastleigh will all win

Big game. We go in with confidence, hoping for a quick start and an early goal.
For the first time in a while Matt probably has some decisions to make selection wise (good decisions from a position of strength). Hoping Ajiboye is available to increase our options and threat. Upfront if Olaofe fully fit and Wilson fine then that will be an interesting one. Can’t see Bugiel getting a rest unless he’s struggling fitness wise given he is our target man and offers lots more with his work rate. Additionally arguably Kenny Davis is another one pushing to start in the strongest team. Presumably Barden may not be available after going off injured. That will likely give Simpson a chance which he has waited patiently for (in glimpses he’s looked really good) so I hope he can take the chance if it does come his way. Other option there is to slide Eastmond to right back and play Kenny/Harry in the middle but I’m not convinced we’ll go that route. Of course Barden may yet be fit but the way he went off it struck me as muscular rather than knock. Time will tell.
Another clean sheet please! Defensively we were superb against Chesterfield and we’ll need to be right at this one again.

Stockport have been in decent form, but like Chesterfield, most of that is due to their home form rather than the away form. They've won 3 of their last 6 away at Dagenham, Woking and Solihull. None of which could be classed as form sides. They've lost at Eastleigh and Weymouth, and managed a 0-0 at Maidenhead, all of which they failed to score in.
I agree Hartlepool will get 3 points v Woking (who are planning to furlough players if they don't reach Wembley, and Dowson has already kind of given up focus on the league), but as for the other 3 games it could go either way. Torquay are in such bad form at the moment (they've not won at home in the league in 2021) and Kings Lynn, as we saw last weeks and with Tuesday's result are no pushover, then I wouldn't be surprised if that ends up as a draw. Over the last 6 games, Notts have only won once, and Yeovil are in better form. Notts are still in contention because of how they do on their travels rather than at Meadow Lane, so again, it wouldn't surprise me if Yeovil nick this one. Eastleigh have also won once in the last 6 games, whist Halifax are the form team (aside from us) and they are on a charge as we are. I'd be surprised if that didn't continue at the Silverlake.
Wrexham get the Saturday off, and the following Tuesday.

Torquay, Hartlepool wins. Then I’m erring with Yeovil at County, perhaps a draw. Fancy Eastleigh to get something from Halifax.

Crikey, that's a tough run of games King's Lynn are having. First us, then Hartlepool and now Torquay (although as others are pointing out Torquay seem to be fading rather fast).

Here we go ladies and gentlemen (nicked that from AB)!
Shame I can’t be there like the vast vast majority of you all.
Wilson & Davis excellent last two games - will be interesting to see A Simpson as the right full back (always impressed by him).
We march on.

Totally disagree that it is our title to lose. Most sides haven't got to 30 matches in a 42 match season. We still have 16 to play. Leagues aren't won at this stage of the season there is just too much football to play.

We know that Stockport have a strong squad, but John Rooney, arguably their best player, missed their last game with a hamstring strain and may not be fit for tomorrow. However their big new signing from Fleetwood, striker Paddy Madden, could start. Another danger man could be Jack Stretton, on loan from Derby County, who's scored twice as a substitute in their last two games.
Stockport failed to score against us in any of the three previous encounters between the two sides. It would be good to extend that run.

Agree with the sentiment that the National League is not ours to lose. Plenty of games to go but we play in strange times and some teams we come up against may not have the motivation of other years. We have the motivation I believe to keep it going at the top of the league but how long that motivation lasts is anyones guess. As a team we might become afraid of heights being on top might get to us but so far we look comfortable on our perch.

Be happy with a point today Still lots of twists and turns in the coming weeks No point in trying to second guess other teams results Let’s just take one game at a time

Would be great (if needed of course ) to see David come off the bench with 15-20 to go and start running at and terrorizing a tiring Stockport defensive line
But obviously I hope we are well out of sight by that point!!

It seems Stockport are going for it today with an attacking lineup.

Then let's hope that their defence is awful as our defence is pretty damn awesome!

Anyone getting bad sound issues on stream? Continually cutting out and has buffered and threw me out once. Never had a problem before.
