Views from their gaffer: www.halifaxcourier.co.uk/sport/football/fc-halifax-town-wild-calls-for-intensity-from-shaymen-in-saturdays-clash-with-table-toppers-sutton-3178103Not overly pleased with this statement - maybe he's trying some mind-games..“Recently I think they’ve tried to buy decisions in and around the box to set set-pieces up and I think we’ll have to be wary that we don’t get frustrated with them trying to buy decisions in and around the box, that’s certainly a tactic of theirs recently" Glad to hear Barden's back in training this week though Simpson's been excellent in the last couple of games he's come in for. Randall should be fit for the weekend also according to Matt. Hoping Omar's knock isn't too serious from Tuesday. Where have you heard about Barden and Randall? Nothing on social media or the website as far as I can see.

I love their managers expression that Sutton try to buy decisions in and around the box!!!! Surely not!! Sounds like pre emptive excuse building, to me. Could he be worried that they'll conceed free kicks around the box, from which we will score? And can then blame us/the ref for it? Could be.

It looks a really really strong side today and I feel that a dismissal from Halifax will happen, maybe wishful thinking on my part🤔

Would have taken that at the start. And especially given how poor we were for most of the game. Beautyman moving inside got us ticking a bit. Worst I’ve seen us this season but the battling spirit is still there!!

Between the 88th and 90th minutes FWP had Sutton 2-3 ahead. I wonder if that was a fat-finger event or something on the pitch?

Battling spirit got us a point- was impressed by Simpson once again - I think he should start ahead of Barden. Also Kealey looked a handful. We are better balanced when we have Randell and Adjeboye - because Beautyman is more effective in the middle. Thought the defence gave away too many balls - similar to Torquay against Halifax. At the moment the quality and depth of the squad is our salvation.

Another strong finish from Sutton, after conceding a lot of possession to the home side in the first 70 minutes and going 2-0 down. For most of that time we struggled to get the ball to our front men in space. This was our eighth game in four weeks, so the players could be forgiven for a below-par performance, but they found another gear in the home strait.
Our four point lead over Hartlepool is maintained as they drew 1-1 at Stockport. Torquay (in 3rd place) lost 1-0 at Dagenham and are now ten points behind us.

Well done lads, good come back that and results have gone our way, so still four points clear with three games in hand. For ever amber!

In all honesty we were bloody awful for 70 mins. Sloppy, mistakes all over the pitch. The only player that stood out for me in that time was Kenny. Everyone else was still on the train there.
At least after 70min the train arrived, but that was a lucky escape for us. Knowing this team however, they're allowed a blip against a very decent in form Halifax.
We've still not lost this season when we've scored. And of course Torquay cannot be ahead of us now by the time we play them on 13th April.
Oh in the Trophy, both VNL teams got dumped out. Woking lost 1-0 and Notts drew 3-3 and lost on penalties. Hereford v Hornchurch final.

The real Sutton only played for about 20 minutes today. For most of the game we were well below par.
Maybe the sign of potential champions?
