For me, our first really convincing display since Bromley away. Are you forgetting Altrincham or do they not count for some reason? Not at all. The quality of the opposition on that day compared to today isn't anywhere close. Aldershot had it in them to get 3 points from today. Alty didn't have anything like that. Hence the word "convincing". |

I’d be very surprised if 4 wins from 6 isn’t enough to win it. A tough ask but doable. One game at a time etc. If we can find a tv win and break that duck for the season on Tuesday we’ll have a good chance I’d think. I think being right in the mix with 6 games to go in itself is a quite frankly unbelievable achievement and we shouldn’t lose sight of that come season end no matter what. I don’t think we’ll be an easy touch in the play offs if it comes to it. I'd be surprised if 4 wins WAS enough personally! The other three sides are top of the 5,10 and 15 game form table and I wouldn't be surprised to see one of them win every game (Stockport probably have to, but even then 4 wins beats them) . Torquay Stockport looks pivotal. 4 wins could be enough but would need to include pools. 4 wins and a draw will probably take it to goal difference as I expect torquay to win 5 of 6. Agree with your second sentence wholeheartedly though! I think with the pressure on to ask teams to relentlessly win all the way at this level is very difficult. But time will tell. If someone beats 84 points then simply put they will fully deserve to win it. If Torquay win 4 out of the last 5, including Stockport away I shall doth my cap to them. Likewise for Hartlepool to not slip up at all, well it would be some effort - 6 out of their last 13 have been draws going back to the beginning of March (they have won the other 7), so even on an absolutely fantastic run have still dropped points in almost half the games, to win every game is very difficult. |

By that token it wouldn’t be possible to have a convincing performance against a weak(er) team.Since time began teams comfortably beating sides not as good as them would be called a ‘convincing’ performance. Altrincham hardly a walkover either, a mere 6 pts behind today’s opponents over 37 games! Perhaps our performance on the day was just even more convincing than today 😉 |

Another nail biter today but deserved the win, Eastie and Louis immense today.
Monday will be fascinating before we play on Tuesday : Bromley vs Hartlepool and Chesterfield vs Torquay are going to be tough games with all involved in a battle for PO or the title.
This is the bit of the season Barrow did not have to play last season, which is why if I live to be 100yrs I will never see their promotion as earned. If we want this its going to be hard, but if Leicester can do it so can we...

Good win and a good performance. On to Notts on Tuesday who stand 20th in the form guide but not to be underestimated.

I found the commentary good although sometimes Ahmed is prone to malaphors (one for you Sallycat !). These can be quite amusing though. The Shots player Nouble also had several pronounciations, that said I couldn't do commentary, its quite a skill. Ahmed isn't the world's most accurate commentator but what he brings to it, with his enthusiasm and general buzz about the game, makes me feel a little bit more like I'm actually there. His slight jumble and quick switches from positive to negative feelings are very much how I feel when watching in person. And, at the moment, that's quite a prize. I enjoyed Tommy (it was Tommy, yes?) as co-commentator, too. Nice team. |
