I find it rather odd that they were working on the pitch until well after 9pm yesterday (Thursday) yet nothing appears to be being done on it today. The pitch still looks far from ready for the seed spreading.

The pitch still looks far from ready for the seed spreading. I think they wanted to do as much as possible while the ground was dry. That thought had occurred to me given that yesterday was forecast to be dry all day. If today’s weather means they can’t work on it then there is a problem because the forecast looks pretty wet for the next week or so.

Hopefully someone at the club will 'tweak' the camera up a little bit so we can see the lights when they are installed. View AttachmentFound this on the Sutton United Facebook page. The lights look smart and persitonnd so future ground work can be done⚽️

I imagine it will be much better for mid-week winter games, as while the previous lights were a little better than the ones before them they were still quite dark. I did used to wonder if it also hampered the player's visibility.

Ah, but was anyone observant enough to see them when they were on?
Serious question as one of the measures of success is not how much light they shine on the pitch, but how little they shone away from it. If they were barely visible in daylight that would be pleasing.

Sadly the link never came back on, either the contractors had issues with finishing their job in time to put wifi back on or did not restart the stream for us, no one is around to restart it until tuesday now.

You can always watch the 3G pitch being laid on YouTube.
When the camera comes back Tuesday the new floodlights will be up and working, Grass on the pitch with distinctive lines following the first cut, The pitch markings complete and both goals in position.

Meanwhile, at the Tokyo Olympics.... It's been great, hasn't it. Never thought I'd find myself getting excited about BMX freestyle, but there you go. Just a shame Team GB couldn't muster a men's football team but you can't have everything I suppose.
