Just watched the extended highlights on iFollow. Nailed on red card for Moore-Taylor as clearly the last defender. Impossible to view it any other way (unless, it appears, you're the guy with the cards).

Whatever happens in the rest of his career, Omar Bugiel, will always be remembered as SUFC's first EFL goalscorer and how he deserved it against his former club. Controlled agression, a turn of speed and an oustanding headed goal from David A's cross.
The players' excellent efforts deserved a point but a soft f-k award from an inconsistent referee (a homer of a decision) led to their late winner. If FGR is to be one of the L2 front runners this season then we shouldn't fair to badly. The difference between the NL & EFL was the strength of the home players but U's fought their individual battles well and got so close to a point. Well done to all.
The ref was little better than anything we saw in the NL. There was a case for an FGR red card in the first half but I don't think it was clear cut enough to send a home player off. He let one oftheir throw ins be taken 6/7 yards up the pitch from where it should have been then called up Jon Barden for doing exactly the same. We will see better but I fear we will see worse officiating too.
As for FGR as a club well; I commented earlier about individuals forcing their principles down people's throats but surely those efforts are all to no avail when your stadium is located in a public transport wildnerness and to get away from Nailsworth is one long, steep gradient on which cars idle for 20 odd minutes or so pumping their evil fumes into the Cotswold air.
Perhaps their new ground situated close to the M5 will be more easily accessible but I don't see the Government coughing up for a railwayline and station to it anytime soon. And so, with no petrol cars on roads still way off in the distant future, what's the point of building an eco stadium in the middle of another public transport wilderness? Until the big polluters in the world China, India, Russia start cutting drastically what we do is going to have little effect but to make us feel better about ourselves or in some cases, downright smug. And recent worldwide weather conditions suggest we might be too late and the best that can be achieved is miniamilising the devastating effects.
That new ground is, I believe, going to be made from sustainable materials, i.e. wood. A modern day Noah's Ark. And the way the rain come down yesterday it might be insightful to make sure like Noah's vision, the new ground can float.
There will be no doubt plenty of moans about our away facilities from visiting fans this season as the SUFC adapts to the new level but at least a vast majority of them will be covered from the elements. To charge an extra £2 to stand on a couple of steps of terracing shielded by the overhang of the seats high up behind is beyond a joke. No chance of spreading out as there was little room to do so. Bearing in mind we are still in a pandemic and even though I had shelled out the extra £2, I opted to get wet rather than risk Covid or at the very least get pinged (again). Our previous visit to The New Lawn gave us the covered end behind the goal, so why change it? I expect we will get more of this up and down L2. So while SUFC do their upmost in a short space of time to make visitors comfortable others (FGR yesterday) will hardly give a cursory nod.
I did have a cup of tea. A luxury tea bag with soya milk. I think I'll stick to my Sainsbury red label and fully skimmed milk combo thanks. Cumberland sausage sandwich anyone?

I see that FGR took the scalp of championship side Bristol City last night which puts our Saturday defeat into a little more perspective.

I see that FGR took the scalp of championship side Bristol City last night which puts our Saturday defeat into a little more perspective. You will also notice they did a “Torquay “ and score in the 96th minute for the second match running they scored in Fergie time. It didn’t do Torquay the ultimate favour last season so let’s hope FGR don’t benefit ultimately from such fortune
