I think it is significant that Adam Lovett has gone out on loan to Tonbridge - leaves a space in the squad ……fingers crossed 🤞

Football League World is suggesting this morning that Millwall want to loan Olaofe out to a 'London based club' so that it will be easier for them to keep an eye on his progress.

I get a feeling some people will be very disappointed if we get someone in who isn't Isaac. And if that's the case, I hope they trust the manager and their judgement, which has been pretty brilliant so far in his time.
Remember, players coming back isn't something that is 100% certain to pay off. Deacon, Stearn, Wishart, Bolarinwa, Payne were all unplayable when they left, and all came back a shadow of themselves. Harry is probably the only one I can think of (off the top of my head) who did come back a better player.
Let's reign in our expectations. One player, however good, isn't going to suddenly turn the team into a side that wins every game.

He wouldn’t really be coming back though would he? He has missed no more games than Will Randall for example. He would also make a significant difference. But you are right we may get someone else or nobody else today.

I agree with Andy K that we need to trust the manager. I also agree with halftimet that if Isaac does rejoin us today he wouldn't so much be 'coming back' as making a late start to this season. With due respect to the (very good) players that Andy identified as perhaps not being so good second-time around, they were not highly rated 21 year olds with a Championship club who finished as our top goal scorer in a Championship winning season the season before. I'm sure that Manchester United are hoping that their new signing won't be a shadow of his former self the second time round. I would also respectfully suggest that Louis John is a much better player now than he was during his first spell at the club (when he was already very good). I would also respectfully suggest that while there are certainly no guarantees, one player of sufficient quality can make a big difference at EFL League 2 level. Hartlepool currently have Tyler Burey, a promising young Millwall winger on loan. He laid on the winning goal in their first league game of the season and he has scored in all of the next three league games. Hartlepool are currently 5th in the league.

Bingo!
It just felt right to me, both for us as a club and, perhaps more importantly, the player. It’s the perfect trajectory for him - a season in the National League followed by a period in League Two.

I’m sure that everyone was hoping that that would happen 👍 watch us shoot up the table now even when Tanto doesn’t play 🥳

This is great news, although we should all remember that he's still recovering from injury and has had no preseason. Matt won't risk him until he is, but agree that his very presence will make a difference.

BBC site isn't up to date yet. I thought I'd look there first.

One of the most significant things that Tanto brings is the ability to worry defenders. Even a long punt up field in his general direction puts a defence under pressure and allows us to get out and reorganise.

I can remember Thibaut Courtois spending at least three seasons on loan from Chelsea to Athletico Madrid - but that was basically one loan deal that was renewed season from season. I can never remember a player being loaned to the same club three seasons running on the basis of three separate loan deals. It's credit to Sutton that Millwall have done this - particularly as there were clearly a number of clubs that wanted to take Tanto on loan.
