I shan’t actually be going to the match tomorrow, but I’ve been reading this thread from the outset and I must say, Meyrick has been bloody amazing to be helping out to this extent! I don’t know if he’s like a self-appointed online liaison for opposing fans, but my respect for Colchester United has shot up over the last 24 hours and that’s all down to Meyrick! In my idea of a perfect football world, all clubs would do likewise. Yes AC I am self appointed! I just like to help away fans if I can, I have been to many away games over the years and I know how difficult it can be to get local info, although of course with the internet it is much easier now. Does anyone remember the old Rivals Network where you could easily post on other clubs forums. I was often popping up on there helping supporters of teams who we were soon playing, I won’t be so friendly on Saturday! ( Joke honest) |

We have a bit of a West Ham theme going on at Colchester with Freddie Sears and Frank Nouble likely to play up front for us and of course Hayden Mullins is our manager. Back in the day when I was still a West Ham season ticket holder (for my sins), when Hayden joined us from Palace I thought he was a natural born leader. It's great to see him get his first full-blown managerial role and (Sutton home and away games aside) I wish him every success. He seems to be a very intelligent deep thinker, not your normal league manager! |

What a shame the game has been called off, it will be an evening game now which makes it more difficult for you all to come along. |
