2nd Round of the FA CUP and i would say not the normal buzz on our forum about such a big tie. Perhaps we have become too accustomed to big matches now.
Hope we can take a decent number of travelling supporters to try and cheer us into Round 3 where the Premiership teams await. Injury wise i would not like to predict who will be fit and like Matt said in his interview he will leave it until the last day to assess.
Let's hope we can progress in both Cups.

Huge if we win. Anyone have any idea how many tickets we’ve sold in advance? Am sure whatever XI we have out will give it a good go. Think Bristol have been doing ok in recent month or 2, as ever it’ll be tough.

Although being a cup game league form isn't too relevant, it's always worth having a look at. Rovers seem to do better on the road than at the Memorial and have managed 7 points in their last 6 games at home. They've beaten Harrogate and Carlisle at home, and got a point at home to Tranmere, with Tranmere coming back from 2-0 down.
The FA Cup second round is always an odd place to be. One thing I have seen is that it's one of the few rounds in the competition which I believe we've never had a replay in.
And our record in it isn't bad either 69/70 W v Barnet 81/82 L v Swindon 87/88 W v Peterbrough 88/89 W v Aylesbury 93/94 W v Colchester 94/95 L v Hereford 11/12 L v Notts County 16/17 W v Cheltenham
This is only the 3rd occasion that we've not had to take part in the qualifying rounds and have made it to round 2 (the first 2 on the list were the other 2) but at the time of writing we've won more than we've lost and each time we have lost it has been to a team higher up the pyramid than we have been. In fact, bar 2 games (Aylesbury and Barnet), every opponent in this round has been in a higher league than us. In some cases more than just one division too, which makes our 2nd round record even more impressive.

I would argue that Barnet was above us in 1969. They was a semi pro club while we was amateur.

If we make it through or go to a replay, we'll be ball 46 in Monday's draw.

I’m on my own cup trail this weekend - 3 matches 3 consecutive days.
Saturday: Portsmouth v Harrogate
Sunday: Rochdale v Plymouth
Monday: B Wood v St Albans
I was struggling to write ✍️ an opener for the Rochdale game on Sunday (it’s for bbc tv) and ANDYK I am nicking your opening lines (thank you).
============
Hope we go well tomorrow - it would be brilliant in this particular season to have a 3rd draw away @liverpool/Man Utd/Tottenham (for the ground - it takes the breath away).
League cup we went to Cardiff and outplayed them for the whole of the 1st half.
FLT: we are in the last 16
And the league well we are on course for back to back titles!
👋🎈

Huge if we win. Anyone have any idea how many tickets we’ve sold in advance? As of yesterday morning, I believe we'd sold about 350 tickets. It is possible to pay on the day, so I guess we'll take 400+. I'm in a bit of a dilemma over my recommended pub as there are so many great hostelries in Bristol. For those travelling by train I'm plumping for the Seven Stars (1 Thomas Lane BS1 6JG), a down-to-earth ale and cider house about ten minutes on foot from Temple Meads station towards the city centre (and North Bristol beyond). No food served, but you may bring your own. I don't know the area around Bristol Rovers' stadium, but two Good Beer Guide pubs in the vicinity are the Annexe (Seymour Rd BS7 9EQ, behind the larger Sportsman pub) and the Drapers Arms micropub (447 Gloucester Rd BS7 8TZ).

Just back. Lost 2-1. Not to be. We defended very poorly 2nd half, couldn’t seem to deal with the first ball properly, haven’t seen us at sea like that for many a while. Lots of shanking out of play, don’t think we put together much in the way of coherent play. We did at times have a threat but can’t argue with result. Thought the ref was shocking. Have certainly seen red cards given for the challenge in the corner on Olaofe first half, terrible, straight through him out of control, no intention of playing the ball at all. Expected a bit more from Bristol too if I’m honest.

Not a happy moment. Hopefully we will bounce back again, though the next games are among the toughest. We are still above all expectations, and that still with key players out - Smith being a major recent loss. Was the penalty justified? No highlights came up yet

One of those where the attacker got in front, was running along byline, then slowed and waited for any contact with Milsom scrambling back.

The poorest I've seen us play this season against possibly the poorest side I've seen in our league. Too many of our players had off days today, but to be fair we're a league 2 side and there shouldn't be any expectation for them to perform to a high standard every game. At a push I'd say probably only Bouzanis, Goodliffe and Tanto showed a good level today, but again we're in the middle of a tough schedule so I really don't want to be too harsh on the team.
Ref was appalling. Missing the stamp in the first half (not dissimilar to Bennetts red card at Rochdale) was criminal, but again I think even playing against 10 men wouldn't have changed the outcome. Rovers deserved their win.
