Sadly the commentary team got a lot of facts wrong last night which i found frustrating to listen to. Was it Ahmed?

Anyone see what the attendance was? - didn't look too shabby for an EFL Trophy game in the cold

I have to say how impressed I am at the appearance of our pitch at the moment. A tremendous improvement on how any grass pitch we've ever had has looked and played at this time of year, I'd say. You'd be forgiven for not particularly noticing since we'd got so used to having the artificial pitch that always looked exactly the same all year round, and besides it's one of those things you sometimes only notice if it's bad. So I just wanted to say a big well done to everyone involved in maintaining it as it has indeed been noticed.

My son said the same thing tonight, although in a different way. He said it has come a long way from me spending hours in front of the TV screaming at the tractors...

Sadly the commentary team got a lot of facts wrong last night which i found frustrating to listen to. Was it Ahmed? No not Ahmed and to be fair the commentary itself was quite good. It is where the commentators start quoting facts about players and positions that they seem to get lost. Maybe a little more research needed.

So another 40k in the bank for us - that's 110k earned in this competition alone so far.
Wasn't a terrible match last night, and I thought better that the Stevenage one in the round before, but my word did it seem to drag, especially in the first half. In all honesty I thought we were better than the scoreline suggested and there were a couple of players with real energy last night, especially Ben Wyatt who seemed to be running non stop for 90 mins, including a darting run from defence all the way up the pitch for a crack at goal, obviously in a Will Randall tribute act!
We've been quite fortunate with the draws so far, let's hope that continues and we get get a home draw in a week where we are already travelling to Carlisle.
Teams left in - Rotherham, Harrogate, Charlton, Wigan, Hartlepool, Arsenal or Chelsea, Cambridge or Exeter or Portsmouth

2022,the year of the two's (so far). Two wins, two goals in each victory.
Last night's match was probably more entertaining than Saturday's. Colchester maybe in the lower reaches but they haven't looked that bad in either of the two matches we have met in. Sears always a threat and but for Dean B two well placed free-kicks would have changed the evening. Dean's first save diverting the ball onto the post was particulalry impressive.
U's opener had a slice of fortune although Ali S probably deserved it with such a superbly struck, low shot. The leveller right on h-t was a jolt but a well-worked move finished off by a crisp finish by Donovan W. The visitors piled forward but failed to take chances their best coming off the post when the fella really should have scored. Sutton had chances to make the game safe but a late free-kick, a poor decision by the ref (didn't have his best game) was pushed away by Dean B and the following corner produced an almighty scramble before the fef called time.
Ben W took MotM and no arguments about that. A performance full of energy. Dean B must have come a close second though.
977 and a heads up to the 116 from Colchester.
So we await the draw; Hartlepool away anybody?
Oldham next; Covid permitting while another threat maybe the heavy rain forecast in Manchester on Saturday. Hope their pitch is decent.
